I plan on going out there mid to late morning Saturday and bringing a buddy. I'm entirely unfamiliar with the area so I'm prepping to get lost somewhere :)

Sure thing. We don't have an established meeting place. Do you just want to meet us in Nashville?

I'll be out there Saturday. Probably tooting around and getting stuck in my almost stock 2wd base access cab. Look for the stranded Grey pickup

Well, my buddy and I rode about 80+ miles worth of the roads worth riding out there and had a blast. Only a few "I hope I can make this" moments, but she performed admirably. There is one section (forget road name) where 3/4 of the way into the "trail" there's a big white sign nailed to a tree saying "Road Closed". We parked and walked a large portion of it to determine what exactly warranted the sign and couldn't find anything than really rough terrain not conducive to passenger vehicles/sedans w/ low clearance. That's more of an FYI if you choose to disregard the sign.

    >_>
    <_<

Anyway, we did a poor job of documenting the trip but here's a few pictures.

There were a lot of No Trespassing signs posted along the road, though we were able to deduce that since these are public roads listed on both physical and digital maps they refer to the area beyond the road itself (into the woods, down under the bridge, etc). Keep a keen eye out as there are a lot of "beaten" roads that look like fun trails/roads but do lead to people's private property/driveway.

Interesting... I don't recall seeing that "road closed" sign. We did have to go around a particular road that the map told us to go on, there were lots of no trespassing signs on that particular road.

It's Ben Fly Rd as you head downhill towards the river. That's a section that's got some decent sized washouts.

That’s my favorite section of the DD. Last time we went through a lady on the lower section gave us the ol’ hobo stare.

I followed THIS MAP with a varying combination of the one ThunderOne provided me. There's a lot of overlap but a few variations.

Be advised, with that comes the NIGHTMARE that is I-65 traffic inbound in the AM and outbound in the PM.
