The guy I talked to at the dealership told me no but if someone can find proof that it is, that would be awesome.

Do yourself a favor and do not buy a replacement from autozone/advance, etc. Find a used OEM or get yours rebuilt.

Does your original one producing 150 amps have a 130 or 100amps sticker on it? The tow package OEM one is rated at 130.

I'll have to go back and look at it in the morning. I was told to double check my battery that I had put on charge yesterday afternoon while removing the alternator and come to find out it's dead as a doornail. So I went and got a new one this evening and going to put it all back together in the morning to see if that fixed the problem. Still skeptical because of the engine code but hopefully the battery will be a much cheaper fix. Just wish I had figured this out before going through the chore of taking the alternator off yesterday :frusty:

Can anybody find a belt diagram for the 2017 Tacoma?! I've looked all over the internet and can't find one or figure out how it goes back on.

I have been getting the "Check Charging System" pop-up on my dash since day one. The dealer has already reimbursed me for one battery and I have been regularly monitoring the voltage of the battery I replaced that one with. It's been decaying since I installed the battery and at a pretty consistent rate. Makes me now wonder if the problem really lies with the alternator/voltage regulator?

When are you getting the "Check Charging System" alert? Before or after you start the truck? The alert is normal if you hit the start button (so it turns to "on"), but don't push the brake and fully start the truck

Yeah I took it up to the dealership this morning and they informed me that it's normal. Im jumpy because the serpentine belt broke two days after I bought it and "check charging system" was one of the many alerts that were triggered.

Also, the qi wireless charging doesn't work (on 4 separate phone models that are wireless capable) and the bed inverter doesn't work either. I'm leaving the truck with the dealer Monday to check the systems out.

Second owner, clean Carfax, 32,000 miles. Not exactly what I was expecting...

CarFax is a joke, issues might be why the first owner ditched it...
