After a lot of pushing last week I got the TSB. To be honest I’m not noticing a difference.

I also had a question about my diff seeping oil. 50B8B73F-74C6-4CD3-BD79-66F7CFBCE25B.jpg
    They said this was normal!

I’m at 12,000 miles. For the hell of it I replaced the transmission fluid with MT-90. The weird thing was that I only got 2qts out and it took 2 and a 1/2 to fill.

that's a good thing that you're not noticing any or much difference after the TSB. your stuff was pretty good to begin with, then.

your diff being low 1/2 qt is common. at least around here those are the reports from users who speak up. mine was also about 3/4 qt low when i put in some Amsoil.

the truth about that diff seep is that you'd likely get different responses from different SA's or dealers. keep an eye on it, and if you have other dealers local and convenient maybe hit one of them up and start fresh. don't mention another dealer would do anything, just see what they say and maybe you'll get it taken care of.

Before I go back to the dealer for the blower recall I want to get all my information straight ,so I have a few questions.
I have a 2016 that was built 07/16, what ID would I have?
I plan to print the TSB and have some concrete proof this update exists since the last time they told me otherwise.

Also, what is the squeaky clutch TSB number? I have had my truck 2 years and have only recently had this start so I'm going to get it taken care of as well while I'm there

Probably 04B11? I think only early 2016s (built in 2015) got 04B10. Do you have an OBD adapter or code reader? With OBD Fusion, you can check the code following @MOC221_ 's steps (search this thread).

The problem is that 04B10 and 04B11 are not listed in the TSB, only 04B12 (table at the bottom of Page 3 of the TSB). The only place that we see 04B10 and 04B11 is in the CUW files. See this post:

There's a squeaky clutch TSB?? I went in last month and told them mine was squeaking and they said they couldn't replicate it and just "lubricated it." Already squeaking again.

    Hi!

Yeah he's most likely 04B11 with that build date.

No more 04B10 for this cat, TSB sorted that out right quick.

BTW Tony, what's our flash failure stats looking like? Were they all "accomplished" with dongles other than Tactrix?

I wish that I logged the folks who posted about shade tree updates and dealer updates. This is my general summary though:

-- Official Tactrix adapter: All Good to 1 Failure (general guess that VM caused the one failure and includes no one posting a brick situation at a dealer)
-- Other adapters: 0 Good to 1 Failure

I do feel bad about linking up the cable that @nartmot used.

I believe the failure from @Double Phister was with a Tactrix, just using a VM.

Just get one of those containers of brake grease that has a brush attached to the lid. That stuff is thick and will stay in place.

If you lay down on the floorboard and look straight up at the clutch pedal there is a spring that looks like a large version of the spring on an old school clothes pin. Cover that spring and the pivot points and you'll never hear the squeak again. Mine has been quiet for 30k miles since I applied the grease. No trip to the dealer necessary

i agree, but i suggest not trying to use a brush or tool, but instead put on a latex or nitrile glove, get two fingers full o grease, and get in there and use your fingers to get into all the channels in the spring coil. then you for sure have it everywhere because you can feel the whole coil with your fingers.

All good man. I was trying to be cheap and you were just trying to help me. I knew the risks. Also, my ECU should arrive at OVTune's tomorrow and he seems pretty confident he can recover it. Fingers crossed! I would definitely discourage anyone from trying this themselves without following 100% of the precautions listed in this thread and the bricked ecu thread.

Thanks! I'm familiar with being cheap and ending up paying more than buying the right thing on the first go.

I do the same thing and also use a long wooden Q-Tip on some of the harder to reach pivot points, also pushing the clutch in with your left hand helps get at everything a little easier.

Riddle me this... if I decide to buy the tactic cable will y’all walk me through everything?

I will need to know what exact cable to buy, what program to download, what kind of computer I will need- and literally step by step instructions- look at it like you are training a dumb chimpanzee or something-

Yeah. A step by step can be put together. Then, we can ask ruggybuggy to update the OP. It's all here, just gotta string a few posts together.

There was one report of a dealer being gun shy about doing anymore updates after they bricked one. I'd have to dig to find out who said that.
