had an sr5 that came with the toyo open country. those things were awful in the rain. my OR came with the kevlar goodyear wranglers. i know they aren't the best offroading tire, but they are miles ahead of the open country for on the road...they just give me shittier gas mileage.

    Stock and staying that way
They can upgrade a vehicle, but can't legally sell a vehicle as new that has been downgraded.

At least that is what my dealer told me when I wanted them to swap the nerf bars on my truck for Predators on another.

I got some shitty Firestone destination LE2 tires, one that had to be replaced at less than 2k miles. A hole somehow appeared in the sidewall... lol

These look like a great tread.

    I like all of them

Sorry to say this, but sell your Kevlars while they are almost new and get other tires worthy of your Pro. They gave you slippers to wear in a steel-toed work environment!

Oh no, say it isn't so. I has been a long time since I have a 4WD. So what would you say about the two tires I posted a couple of posts back?

Kevlars are good for light offroading, but several members, including me, lost 2 on the same trip. Just don’t do rocks with them. If you go offroad on sand or gravely roads only, they are fine. I lost one on sharp rocks, and the other on pavement but it was like 120 degrees out and really hot and I had just driven a lot of miles on gravel and rocky roads.

I now have 165/75/16 KO2’s on my stock rims for my 2017 OR- and have always put KO’s on my previous trucks, too.

I am partial to BF Goodrich for offroad. That is what I had before. I do like the tread pattern of the KO2's

The last time I had a 4WD. I could sit underneath the bed and work on the driveshaft.

2016 OR Double Cab came with Goodyear Kevlar's 30k on them and still decent tread left. Only light off road use so far. I like them well enough for my use.

I had an OR, it came with the goodyear wrangler with kevlar too. My runner came with nitto terra grapplers, nittos are really good riding. You might consider nitto ridge grapplers, those are what I’m getting next.

My Sport also came with Toyo Open Country, but the spare was a Firestone Destination... Was questioning why the tires were not the same.

Goodyear Kevlars. Can't wait to replace them with a more off-road tire, like a BFG K02 or similar... Gotta have the 3 peak winter designation for my liking.

I guess we both had a '77. My favorite was the '78 model. I liked the grill a lot better.
What tires and wheels do you have on your Red OR?

Red OR is running 285/75r16 BFG AT's on 16x8 SCS Ray 10's. About to make the switch to 35's though.

Partial to the round headlights in 77 and earlier myself but the 78/79 was still a good lookin ride.

The '78 was the last year before they messed up the motor and had emissions B/S
