This. You dont need CC or the locker (both of which only work in 4L. Had MTS been a 4H feature that might've compelled me to go OR, but the fact is you will almost never use these features unless you on some backwoods trail and if that's your intention then yeah get the OR.

I just dont get all the fuss over it. I'm not saying my hood scoop, fenders, bumper and rims aren't a huge upgrade, but they are more value for me than features I'd never use on the OR.

Agreed. In all my adventures, it's rare (if ever?) that I need more than 4H.

Kinda like Jeeps. Some guys really need a Rubicon, some guys just like to be seen in a Rubicon.

I think the sport is just as capable as the off road. It all depends on who is driving. I love my sport, kind of wish I got the quicksand, but the superwhite is nice when you don't clean it.

Listen dude. When you shred the gnar, you want everyone to know. And you want everyone to know that WHAT you shred the gnar on is better than everyone else’s.

This woman LOVES jeeps. She swears by em. Really good sound system in them too, got that Melissa etheridge knob turned up to 11, I always know when they get back from the softball games. Good peeps though.

If you have any plans to upgrade suspension components, then just do a sport. I wheel my 2nd gen sport and already went 5100s, but it performed fine stock. Really the only draw would be the E-locker but that meh compared to just upgrading to a true locker.

    Too few to list.
I've had both Sport and OR on a 2nd Gen. I can understand that most don't have a need for the locker but as far as I know, A-Trac is only available on the OR which to me is a very important feature as it has gotten me in and out of a lot of things with just A-Trac alone. Yes, the Sport has Trac but not the same and strong as the OR. Even the brake components are different because of A-Trac.

Didn't get a chance to update, but I ended up buying a sport! I went in to go buy an off-road, and on the contract they added $499 "lifetime warranty" that I didn't want to pay. They said I had to pay it or no deal so I walked. The very next day I walked into another Toyota and they had a dcsb sport in cement with tech and premium on the lot and ready to go. Signed for it and left with it two days later. The dealer ended up e-mailing me back a week later asking if I was still interested and I mentioned I bought one the next day. No response. Haha

Anywho, LOVE the sport! It's extremely comfortable and feels so advanced coming from my 2015 Jeep Wrangler. I don't need the crawl control or MTS, they would have been nice to have but I'll never go rock crawling on a 40k car! She's doing just fine!

OR has hydraulic brake boosting, whereas the sport is vacuum. Basically the OR has a considerably stronger braking force, ATRAC is much better at attempting to work as a locker thanks to its clamping power. I have the OR and have had a sport, I've never needed 4lo myself, but I'm not looking for difficult trails, OR suspension is better though.

Maybe those guys also like Rubicons too, no different than a guy buying a Sport to show off a scoop, buy what makes you happy.

I would get the sr5 4x4 before I got the sport, then upgrade for your needs. I just couldn’t have a hood scoop that is non-functional.
I like the OR but if I did it again I would get the sr5 and install a compressor/pneumatic diff-lock and 2nd gas tank, shocks and tires.

This is just flat out false. Nothing replaces a rear locker.
