Anyone with bilstein 5100s set at 0, 885 coils, and top plate spacer for the taco lean have lift measurements? Ive seen a chart that shows 1.75 of lift (probably without the top plate). Im hoping to get close to 2 inches of lift, but curious which route would get me closer to that: 5100s or the OME struts (with 887 coils and top plate spacer).

5100's w/ OME887 give around ~2.25-2.75 based what people have been reporting on this forum. The spacer is only 1/4" and is a fix for taco lean and you should not worry about it in your measurement.

Every truck is different, I ended up just under two inches with that set up after settling a year later.

You can also go 1/2 inch spacer on driver side, 1/4 inch on passenger side or just bump up to the 2nd clip on the 5100s if you're so worried about a 1/4 inch.

I’m getting the same setup you are. Except going with 887 springs. To play it safe when they settle after much research. 887 and 5100 set at 0. And the ECGS needle bearing for good measure. To avoid vibrations everyone talks about when lifting.

I've been reading through threads for over an hour... I'm considering the same set up, but to fix a problem. I've got a a bumper and a winch drooping my front end and causing my tires to wear unevenly. Bought the truck used and the previous guy left the stock suspension on... SO, in my research I had my local off-road guy tell me that he doesn't put OME springs on 5100's because they blow out. Anyone seen or heard of this combo failing? OME 88X paired with 5100's?

Most run 886 with 5100s due to the extra weight, I haven't heard of a bunch failing with that combo but then again, depending on weight up front, additional armor, batteries and use, anything can blow out.

You can always bump up to Bilstein 6112 or many of the different coilovers for peace of mind.

I have the 885s with 1/4 spacer and I can tell you mine after 5+ months is more like 1.5" of lift..

That's what I've been reading. The bumper is the C4Fab Low pro, so its not a full bumper and not quite as heavy. I don't have any armor yet, but hope to replace the factory skid plate at a minimum in the future. I haven't looked into the 6112 too much but I'm guessing they're a little more beefy. If I go with the 5100 and 886 set up, will I also need to lift the rear to match?

Are you running a bumper and winch with the 885's?

Probably need to give the guys at Headstrong Offroad a call. According to their chart they dont recommend 886 coils with 5100s but there are a number of people that run them on TW and it seems to give about 2 inches of lift with 200lbs of extra weight. 2 inches up front would make you nose high on a stock rear end.

Negative. No extra weight up front. I believe I have stock measurements laying around my garage...I'll go measure tomorrow and see if I can get some actual numbers for those interested.

That is...if I did record my stock height :p

No worries... Thanks guys for the help! I did leave a message for Headstrong Offroad on their contact page. Didn't see a number but wouldn't be the first time I didn't see something right in front of me...

Im going with 5100’s in the front and 5160’s in the rear.
    Putting the front in Thursday.
Rears are on and already the truck feels better planted to the ground on dirt roads.

With the stock spring i know it will make the ride a bit stiffer up front since the coil will be preloaded a little But thats ok for now.plus thats what the 5100 were designed to do. When i get the winch and slimline bumper Ill prob order the ome springs to prevent the droop and stock getting even more preloaded.

I have the same bumper with a winch and I’m running the OME 90021 shocks with the 888 medium springs and Dakar leaf pack with 90021 shocks in rear. I think the OME shocks are better than the 5100’s (6112’s would be nicer maybe). They are stiff when they start out but ride nice when settled. It’s been over a year and still 2” in the front.

I also have the OME 888 front springs and sport shocks and full Medium Dakar rear springs. Purchased from Headstrong Off Road. Have a SSO slimline bumper, with winch and ALL-Pro sliders. Sitting a little over 2" in front and 2" inches in the rear. Ride is much better over stock. @SpeySquatch did you have problems with the lower rear shock mount? Mine did not fit and I had to hammer and bend the lower factory bracket to get the shocks to fit. Otherwise everything went smoothly.IMG_0298.jpg

No issues mounting. Everything sits right I’m just surprised the shocks angle so close to the leafs. The leafs will actually touch wider shock bodies and you can hear it when articulating or going over whoop see doos quickly
