So if I put a 130 amp alternator am I fine with the stock wiring or do I need the big 3 upgrade?

I'd like to see that battery walk into the pulleys now...

It will be ok but the big 3 will make it better. If you upgrade the alternator you really need to upgrade the wiring too.

Yeah that's what I always used to tell my buddies. But not anymore. If I'm not mistaken the latest 3rd gens are all made in Mexico now & I believe that Baja plant only makes Tacomas there. The old NUMMI plant is now Tesla, I hate Teslas! :anonymous:

Some are still made in Texas, ya gotta look for the VIN that starts with 5. Any VIN that starts with 3, are assembled in Mexico.

F-150s are made here, my cousin works at the Ford plant in Kansas City, Missouri...he said they make all the F-150s except for the Raptor which is assembled in Detroit. Where the parts are made is entirely another story I'm sure.

I need to get something like this...just been using zip ties through the lip of the battery and the body of the engine bay, but they tend to break

My dad couldn't believe it when I told him the same Aisin RA60 transmission in his 2nd gen was used in the Camaro. So much for American made.

Good to know but I won't be buying one. :)

I thought I read something that only the first of the 3rd gens had some made in Texas. I definitely could be wrong though.

Most Double cabs I believe are Mexican. Most Access cabs are Texan. At least that's what I read.

Go for it! Sounds easy & it is but time consuming to machine it for what it is. This is one of those parts that only makes sense to burn out or water jet.

Or were you being sarcastic? :brianr:

I got nothing better to do too but there are many more things I'd rather machine than these things. :)

Just dropped my truck off to glorifiedwelder to fix my shock towers & get gusseted so I really got nothing better to do until I get it back.

loaded up the truck with a heavy media console in the bed on top of my plywood drawers and a super heavy side table on the rack. i also had my heavy Kuat rack and light for me (29.25lbs) mtb and luggage. 70mph with tarps is no fun. Dallas to Houston. Sag was not bad. i put the new OME suspension to work. it road great.
