Are you happy with your RK Sport Hood?

Hi guys,

I have an offroad and really like the Hood Scoop.

How do you guys like the RK Sport Hood who have installed it and do you recommend it over OEM?

Do you think color matching the cement color will be difficult?

Never could square Toyota's brand image of utterly dependable reliability with a totally non-functional hood scoop.

Your smooth hood is gorgeous. I mean really what this boils down to is smoothie or landing strip. Can we be real? Can we? I prefer a smoothie especially when off roading.

 

I'm typically a function over form kind of guy, but I love the way the skewp looks. I know, it doesnt do shit, I know its dumb and I'm silly for having it, but I love how it accents the truck. The lines flow well or something...idk. I liked them on the 2nd gens, I like them on the third gen. Whatever, I'm dumb.

If the dealer had the same used truck in a sr5, or an off road, I still would have bought it and loved it. But they had a Sport, with all the features I wanted, so I bought it. No ragrets

 

Yeah, I really liked the 2.5 gen sport hood. That’s the meanest looking truck Toyota has ever made.

It seems like the gen 3 Hood Scoop blends more and isn’t as in your face

Personally, don't like it. But as they say "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". So do what you you want, it's your truck!

 

If our race was wiped out in the blink of an eye, and eons later an advanced civilization dug up the Tacoma section at a buried dealership, they would look at this scoop and say “wait wtf... ok but wait...why? Oh no I get it this goes over.. nah that doesn’t work either. What is this for?? Doesn’t make ANY sense” they would make fun of our entire civilization based on one hood scoop. Not worth it in the long run. The 2nd gen in entirety is bad enough.

 

Or...OR would it be a giant mystery that philosophers and scientist alike debate over for thousands of years like Stonehenge or something

Fake scoop is fake. What’s worse is the fake scoop installed along with a snorkel that does nothing to increase fording depth, found on 19 pros.

It came with a hood scoop because I needed an AC Long Bed manual trans. Sometimes that’s all that’s available.
