    Hey guys!
New to the forum. Happy to meet y'all.

Finally back in the 4x4 world with a Taco TDR Offroad. I'm still a newbie. I'll need all the help I can get.

I'll be driving about 2,500-3,000mi here soon from Alaska to Washington state. Will put my new rig to the test.

Maybe I'll keep yall updated on the journey. If cell signal permits. (Hopefully, NO cell service and blissful wilderness!)

I'll be driving the ALCAN Hwy during early winter. Maybe even some side roads, if my tow trailer permits.

Finally made the painful financial choice to get a real 4x4. Leer camper on it's way. So the dog and I can camp in the pickup bed. Stay away from the moose and bears at night.

    Cant wait to meet yall!

    Best,
    -Rory

Welcome! If it’s still under 1k miles when you do the trip make sure to vary RPMs for “break in” piece of mind.

I don’t believe the manual gives specific numbers. But I did two 350 mile trips when under 1k miles. Varied rpms between 2-4K, tried not to break 4K. Tried not to let it stay at a certain rpm for more than 5-10 minutes(that’s what just felt right to me). I believe the manual just says no hard acceleration or hard breaking for the first 750? Something like that. Pretty vague.

Anyone else have an '18 Taco TRD Offrd? I'm not sure how to lock my rear diff yet. I'm too proud to read the manual yet.

Also, building my Roadtrip kit. For the winter Alaska-->Washington state drive. Any tips? And what does everyone else throw in their trip kit?
(Also sorry, maybe this isnt the right post to ask but then again...newbie problems!)

To activate the locker you have to be in 4lo(enter 4 hi anytime under 65mph, enter 4low with the truck in neutral) and click or hold it for a few seconds, I cant remember. Light should blink and go solid when it locks.
