    Eric,

When you had (I think you have upgraded since then) the stock TSB springs with AAL and HH, what length shock did you go with (extended length)?

I already had the shock relocation done, and tried 14's to check fit, but stock springs are stuck around 10" travel. Extended length in stock location would be a good match.

The ride with Hammer hangers and stock springs is really good

I'm not too sure what the issue is with Dakars. Is it only for the flip kit? I was looking at getting the upgrade shackle with toytec boss and Dakar rear leaf. Any fitment issues on that setup? Currently I am running the stock brake lines in the rear. Would I need to lenghten the lines with this kit?

There should not be any issues with that, longer rear brake lines are required with longer shocks. Wheeler's have 24" that should be enough (20" stock)

I ordered the HH's with 3.6 shackles and U402's. I just ordered the king oem shocks (15.5"-24.1") with a +2" brake line. Is this enough brake line or is +4" needed?

Also, do the leaf bushing come with the HH's? The leafs have already been delivered without them.

Your shocks will be the limiting factor for downtravel in your case so extended brake lines aren’t even really needed.

So how much travel is he loosing with the King OEM shocks? What shock would he have to upgrade too? That would be what was limited, Right?

If he did a shock relocate, he could squeeze in a 12” or 14” shock and get loads more downtravel. A 12” king smoothie is 19.5” collapsed and 31.5” extended.

Edit: and if this was done, extended rear brake lines are definitely needed

Great answer!! Thank you. I have the same setup as his :D:D

When you say loads more, do you mean 2 inches?

The stock length kings have 8.5” of travel based off his numbers, and these are 12” travel, so 3.5” more travel overall, which is a pretty significant difference.

And that's 3.5" at the shock, when you figure the overall geometry of the axle and suspension it probably equates to a decent amount more than that at the tire.

I'm sending you bushings from my stock.
22" lines will just be enough for those shocks, barely longer than stock.

I still need to either get a crosstube or have one made for my HH at some point soon.

I have yet to cut the tab on my HH but was planning to do that this coming weekend, but I guess cutting the offending leaf would do the exact same thing in reality right? My next wheeling trip is not this coming weekend, but the weekend after so need to do something by then.

Now, probably not the best solution but another thing instead of doing shock relocate... having 12" travel shocks in the stock location but then you will need to make sure you have some good bumpstops to prevent them from going full compression on you. I have the Wheelers bumpstops with their spacers on them. But I am planning on doing shock relocate here in a while and going to either King 12 or 14" shocks and then being able to remove the bumpstop spacers.

The leaf pack is the limiting factor on the rear suspension now with this setup. This is max droop, and the likely hood of me achieving this on the trail is very slim, but I do have extended brake lines and a spacer on the brake line bracket as well to give more on that.

I doubt I'll ever do any serious rock crawling. Any reason I should change my order to add the tube?

Only if you wanted to honestly. It would just help to tighten up the rear more. But since you don't do serious rock stuff, I doubt you would see much difference in not having it.

It will add an additional improvement to the ride quality of HH, it's noticeable, also protects the frame rails

If you have spare relocated, I do recommend it

Eric, do you know if this issue regarding the Dakars and the hanger tabs is still an issue with 4.9" shackles? I have the earlier version with the tab and the 4.9" fabbed shackles in prep for SUA.
^ this and it comes in handy for those who haven't boxed the frame like myself as a sort of preliminary measure. If you've already boxed the frame than I doubt one would see much benefit from the cross tube. However if you just want to solidify the rear end a little for taking the occasional hit, nothing hardcore, then the tube is a nice touch. It is by no means a replacement for boxing the rear end though.
