Help on choosing a 3 inch lift.

So, I am looking at getting a 3 inch lift without leveling (I like stock stance). I would like any advise, opinions on what to buy. This truck is my daily driver. I'm just looking for better clearance and the ability to fit 32 inch tires possibly 33's. I would like to maintain a comfortable ride. Also not looking to break the bank.

without leveling?! Subscribed! I don't even know how this would be possible. Most of the kits I've seen including leveling. It's their highest selling point besides fitting bigger rubber.

 

Well, I would be able to fit the same size tires without leveling that I could with leveling. Leveling just lifts the front higher then the rear by about an 1.5 inches, I want to lift the front and rear both 3 inches.

From what I can tell that set up still only lifts the rear 1.5 inches. While lifting the front 3 inches.

 

put two sets of leveling blocks and then do the three in the front. then you will have tire clearance but also a lower front than the back

 

Ive got an OME thats pretty decent, Toytec is another good one. Or you could go with bilstien 5100's all around and an AAL.

 

Not sure about the first gens but on my second gen I did this. I have 3" lift from coilovers in front and a 3" leaf pack in the rear. Sits stock just higher. Check my build thread. The ome lift is great. Instead of adding the 1.5" aal just get new 3" leaf packs if they make them.

 

I have bilstein 5100s on my truck set at 2.5 in the front and a toytec AAL in the back With 5100s and i still have about a 1 inch rake. I think it sittes perfict.

x2 on the adjustable coilovers. This gives you complete control of the front. There are many options for the rear, from complete spring pack replacement to add-a-leafs to extended shackles. Find to combo that gives you the "3 inches" in the rear, then, with COs you can dial in the exact rake that you want.

btw: you do not need a 3 inch lift to be able to clear 32" tires.

 

Agreed with these guys... Tom, you gotta just throw billy 5100s up front...then you can adjust it.

I have an 05, so the lift may change a little but my thoughts are the same.
I like the stock stance (rear a little higher than front), and definitely not a fan of front higher than the rear.
My first thoughts were Bilstein 5100s in front @ 2.5", and 2" AAL in rear.
Instead of that I am going with a 3" coilover lift, and I think I am going to put 5100 in rear with 2-3" rear AAL.
I am definitely going with stock TRD OffRoad 16" rims, black powdercoated, with 285/75/16 rubbers.

As you can see, I want to put a bit of a lift on the truck, but I can't afford to break the bank... the lift will cost less than $1000, and coilovers much better than just upgraded shocks.

Let me know if you want explanation on anything, or terms....

Was the rear toytec AAL a 1.5"? If so you should be setting perfectly level now.

 

TTC30STKS from skyjacker is a 3" lift with new leaf packs in the rear... or you can throw the billies on the front and get some 3" lift springs for the rear, something like these...

 

Well I came up with this, OME with 883 coils (the 883's without added weight in the front says it will do a 3 inch lift) and the complete leaf pack in the rear that offers a 2.25 inch lift with a one inch lift shackle. Giving me a 3(front) and 3.25(rear) inch lift.

Thoughts?

 

Do you have front axles? Can't tell from your profile. If your truck is a 4x4, 3" of lift in the front will put a lot of pressure on your axle boots. You do not need more that 2.5" to be able to run 285s.

 

Wouldn't a diff drop help relieve some of the pressure?

 

It was soppose to be 1.5" but i acually picked the back up about 2.5" some my rear is a little higher.
