I went the switch route (replaced the cubby left of steering wheel so I have 4 switches available.) I'm thinking I should switch to sPOD, it's just so much cleaner than messing with relays and tons of wires.

I went with a switch pro for a few reasons

    • I liked the style of the switch plate over the spod
    • Once installed it is easy to add stuff. I am not buying all my light accessories at once and have no interest in repeatedly wiring in new switches. Just attach to the switch pro brain and go.
    • I had a couple accessories that weren't going on the switch pro, but were going through a fuse box. So I got the powertray (vendor here ) to mount the fuse box, terminal block and the switch pro neatly.. I think there's a powertray option for spod, but I am not 100% sure.

Biggest downside is that it is pricey. That hurdle took a while to get over.

Most wouldnt need to look into them. They are expensive and not really needed in the stictect sense.

I have wiring run for ditch lights, light bar, auxilary back up lights and am about to run switches for an arb rear diff and compressor - and could just use switch blanks

SwitchPro has made wiring 100x easier. Just have to go through the firewall once and then adding new accessories is as easy as positive/negative to the SP module under hood and adding a sticker to your control module in cab. Bluetooth feature rules when you’re camping too!

    Some pics from install:

Under hood (mounted on a @Mr.PowerTrays tray with a BlueSea fuse block for non-Switch Pro accessories (front camera, underhood/Engine LED light, bed lights, on board water pump) and a Blue Sea bus bar for grounds.

Hahaha that’s not a bad idea but this little guy wouldn’t be too much help in that situation!

    1E6ACF07-22D1-45CE-893B-881F7AF16C22.jpg

It’s been super helpful to clean up around camp or the lake, washing out the kayaks or the dogs and even for makeshift shower. Roughing it, you know!

Edit: link to the thread of the guy who puts the kit together if anyone wants more info

Had SPOD in my Jeep and it was great. Quality, fit and finish all seemed really good. Wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again. That said, I’ll likely try Switch Pros if I need another setup (currently don’t though). There’s some switch pros features I prefer over SPOD. Either are very good from what I’ve read - a lot comes down to personal preference on form factor.
