Interesting story about Johnny Paycheck,

He died dead broke. Not many liked his sound. He died so poor his family couldn't afford his funeral. Johnny Cash and Merle Haggerd paid for it.

Edit: wikipedia is saying it was his manager, but someone I know who was intimately associated with that era of music told me that story. Like the type of guy that spends 30k on a banjo.

 

Quick (hopefully) question guys. I’m going to replace the battery when I get my taco back and wondered what you guys are using. Mine is a TRD off road so I’ll be going with a 27F group but I’m especially looking for one with a large reserve capacity.

I haven’t been able to find the RC for the OEM Truestart battery so I’m looking at the Autocraft Silver which has 710 cca and a lister 165 minutes of RC.

What do you think of this one or do you have any other suggestions?

 

When its time for mine, im going with optima yellow. Had one in several other cars. Literally the battery outlasted the car and put it in the next one.

 

I have a chainsaw and duct tape as well. I'm sure I have a broom or some garden tools that could be used as poles.

Powered or manual? I'm a lazy fuck so powered would be best, but beggars can't be choosers.

This use the Ryobi One+ batteries? I've got a bunch of Ryobi tools and a couple batteries, so I wouldn't need the battery. I know you just had your cataract surgery. Would we be able to meet somewhere Fredericksburg and your place to save me a little driving? I'm off this coming Friday, so we can wait until then if that works or in the evening one day.

 

@buyobuyo mine is manual so you really gotta commit to standing there and focusing.

 

This honestly depends on what you'll use your truck for. If you go off roading a good bit, you'd want to use an AMG style battery like an Optima since the lead plates are less likely to crack due to vibration. As of right now, I have a Duralast Gold 27F with 890 cranking amps (710 cold cranking) and 165 minutes reserve in my Taco. The CRX on the other hand, currently houses my Optima red top that I've had in numerous vehicles since I bought it 14 years ago. My other thing about batteries happens to be the manufacturer. I've honestly never had good luck with batteries made by East Penn, so I try to stick with Johnson Controls (Duralast, Interstate, Optima).

I’m planning to work tomorrow (in Chantilly) but then on Tuesday I’m getting the other eye done, so I won’t be able to drive for a couple of days. Can you make it as far as Chantilly? And yes it uses the Ryobi One+ battery.
