It was beautiful. Not as pretty as the Telluride Durango area of Colorodo as i was coming through but definitely pretty.

Do any of you guys run a 3-leaf AAL when you're sporting a RTT on a bed rack?

I'm debating on whether or not I need to upgrade from my 3 Leaf AAL to a Dakar pack for supporting the weight of a future RTT purchase. Think a 3 leaf with the overload put back in would be OK to run a tent with about 150lbs of camping gear?

I have the stock leaves with a wheelers 1.5 aal and it's fine. I have a shell a rtt and bed drawers with a bunch of gear. Could use a dakar pack in the future though.

Awesome, thank you! Did you leave your factory overload in?

    Awesome photo too, btw. #goals

I also went this route when I got my RTT. Safest bet would be to add overload back in and see how it does with weight you have in the bed. If it runs fine, perfect. No need to spend nore money if this setup runs fine for you.

All good advice! But...in the end you will need a Dakar, Deaver or some other packs to get the job done. The factory packs with AAL and overload is just a temporary fix. Your going to want/need more support back there.

I run heavy dakars with an extra AAL in there. I also have a rear high clearance with swingout and a 35 on there too.

Sparrow X. Has the cross bars. Same price as the Sparrow without the bars.

Now just need to sell my FSR M49.

    Plethora of "useless" shit
Finally got out with the rtt setup. Also got the wife out for the first time and she's officially hooked.
Only issue she had was climbing the ladder bare foot. Are any of you guys using something to pad them a bit? I searched but didn't come up with much.

Nice setup. As for the ladder, I cut some carpet to fit the top of the steps. Then, used 1/8" aluminum pop rivets with a large top to sercure the carpet.
