To be honest I’ve never picked up a supercharger for our trucks, how much does the blower weight?

 

I don’t remember the weight last time I shipped one. Maybe 25-30 lbs? I’m just guessing. I can figure it out once it’s off. Hopefully in the next couple weeks, time permitting

 

James again thanks for the help earlier. Now onto my next project, bedliner. How are you liking the Raptor liner you bought at Amazon? Holding up? Recommend it? I called a local Line X place and they quoted me $499.99 for with life time warranty. I find it a bit expensive.

 

It's been pretty good so far. I've never had a professionally done liner like Line-X, Rhino, Etc, those seem to me like they will withstand more abuse. I couldn't justify to myself, though, spending $400-$500 on a liner. That's just me, though. I've used it for medium duty stuff like hauling my mountain bike, a step ladder, shovels and stuff. So far it's been good. I have one small spot where my bike pedal rubbed it while laying down on the way back after a MTB ride and the paint shows a bit...about 3-4mm. Also, I have a small rub mark from the door of my camper shell. It's not all the way through but the liner is a little thinner there.

Ultimately, I think it's probably not as thick and durable as a commercially done liner, but for the money I think it's pretty good. It definitely is a good amount of prep work that goes into it...that's something else to take into account as well when you look at the $500 price tag of Line-X. LMK if you have any other questions or need to see any other pics of it.

 

I agree on paying that much for bed liner. I will most likely do it myself. All I will need if I buy this kit is a compressor ( I think that's what it's called) so I could apply the liner. Also, I saw some pictures and noticed you used something to clean the bed of the truck. Were you waxing it?

 

I just washed it out before and after sanding it. And again after I sanded the primer. I washed it with dish soap to remove as much oil and wax that I could. Then I wiped it out with a tack rag real quick the morning I sprayed it.

 

What grit did you end up getting ?

 

I think I used 220 grit on the paint. It scratched it up pretty well. IIRC I may have used that on the primer as well but super light because that stuff sands off really easily.

I pulled the S/C off today. LMK if you're still interested in it. If not, it's no biggie...I'll jut post it up here an on CL. It weights about ~35lbs on my bathroom scale.

Edit: Just realized it won't fit, 8 port vs 4 port, damn you Toyota.

 

I'm broke as a joke right now, But its gonna sell hella quick. I just got back from Japan and spent way to much money, also doing my clutch/frame swap right now so money is as tight as a nun.

Yeah...I'm not sure why they switched. I've read that the older 8 port is actually a better flowing design than the newer 4 port

No problem, man. I know how it is, mods add up quick!

 

What made you decide to remove the supercharger?

 

I like the workings of a turbo set up better so I'm thinking about going that route.
