From a handling standpoint you always want the softest possible springs, but then again preload isn't as preferable as the right free length.

Preload is much further down on the "long winded writeup" checklist though, so I would stick with the 650.

What makes you hesitant about ADS now?

Speaking of suspensions my Fox 2.0s were/are driving me batshit. Finally got some time to look at remote mounting the resis, but the lines are way too short for any mount point.
Then I couldn't seem to get the hoses and resis back to where I had them piggybacked & clearing everything it needed to clear.:frusty:

It's like no one at Fox actually looked at a Tacoma before deciding they had some 6" hose and 90° fittings laying around. Too short for remote, obnoxious to clear stuff like e-brake lines piggybacked.:anonymous:

    Ah ok I misunderstood then.

I'm kinda debating getting Accutune to do a set of Foxes for me, or selling my 2.0 rears and going with ADS instead.

Been very happy w/ ADS and would recommend without hesitation. Sounds frustrating with the Foxes and the resi woes. I wouldn't think it would be too hard to put a longer line onto the resi and recharge them if you wanted to remotely mount them?

They also have great instructions on the website.

Yeah it's not a big deal to do it, you'd have to figure out the right fittings and the right lengths, and take them somewhere to get recharged. It could get pricey fast, because the lines & service charges are not cheap. Which would kinda kill the amount I saved on it to begin with.

What gets me hot under the collar is that I would have to in the first place. I'm not running some exotic setup, it's a stock leaf on a stock axle on a stock truck. If I buy a product that says "Tacoma 05+" you'd think that it should be a no fuss thing. And I'm not the only one who has been left scratching my head either.

More and more I feel like I should just call ADS. Save up and make it my Christmas present to myself, roll down to Tucson to will call, go see the Pima Air & Space...:)

You can give them a call and tell them what you are planning on doing and they'll do custom orders and make sure you get the correct amount of material.

Stick with 650lb. That's probably around where I was at before going LT and switching from 600-650 was a huge improvement. 700lb would be for that, dual batteries and rtt over the cab or something like that.

What boggles my mind is that supposedly Toytec sent off a 3rd gen OEM coil for analysis and it came back 717 lb/in, so basically within a margin of error for winding to 700... but the stock rates feel so wallowy soft.

I know there's more to it then that, length and damping and preload. But still, it seems so bizarre.
