Theres alot of pointless info that can be very misleading in the middle of all that. Figured since everybody seems to have the same problem one a little more experienced could point me in the right direction. Thanks tho bud

Both, the one that's supposed to be released in a couple days is supposed have an economy and a power tune. The current version is still way way better than stock, I highly recommend it.

Bought my pro in May. 6 weeks later I put 1.04 onto it. Best damn decision.

Just do it. You will not regret it.

So this afternoon sister and I loaded up the truck with camping stuff and two dogs. Took the truck up the Coquihalla Hwy (think Highway thru Hell if you get that show where you are)... Sooooo much better than stock. Controlled power, better gear holding, less gear hunting, and with ECT PWR on, had lots of go. Quite simply so much better.

I too loaded the truck and went camping with the misses. But she still hunted in the hills. Push, nothing. Push further, nothing. Push further, way too much power. Still annoyed.

I think that performance is due to what Matt described a few pages back. At highway speed and low rpm it seems the stock tune simply waits until enough throttle demand equates to downshift response, rather than applying more fuel. Can’t remember how many posts ago but it was shortly after him listing the new tables.

A little while is warranty period...

In theory, the tune isn’t detectable by Toyota dealers. According to Matt. Some have simply flashed back to factory prior to dealer visits. Most have simply gone to dealer with tune installed and nobody tells wiser.

For a brand new truck... if it came with the latest TSBs installed, then the benefit of the tune is somewhat diminished since the TSB helped with some bad habits. Still, the $750 I spent was overwhelmingly worth it and I did mine at probably 2k miles.

According to Matt, 1.05 was supposed to be leaps and bounds better than 1.04. Now he has access to more Toyota data and that can only make his 1.05 product better, albeit somewhat delayed.

If you’re at all confused or upset or disappointed in how your truck drives, do it. Of course, read the thread in more detail to have a fuller understanding of what you’re buying.

I dunno about somewhat diminished. The 91 tune still has more power, better shift points and better mpg than the stock 04b40 tune for me. It also has one other major change over the stock tune which is super important. Learning is disabled. With the stock tune, that is not the case

    Yes recommend

    No void warranty

Yes you can flash back to stock

Once you learn how to flash, you can flash anytime anywhere....

Help me out, I've been on holidays for a couple of weeks. Why do we have a 104r tune when the 105 is suppose to be released very soon?

Toyota released an update to fix stumble and the transmission a bit. 1.04r is for those who updated, cause they couldn't downgrade their ecu once they implemented the software upgrade.

So I’ve started noticing the clunk coming back when I come to a stop (1.04R and new TSB). It’s not as bad as it was on 1.04, but still there. Really hope 1.05 can completely cure this.

Also, for guys with 4.88 gears. Does OVTune improve everything with the new gears or if I do 4.88 gears, should I go back to stock tune for stock shift points? (If that makes sense) haha
