Tell me about it. When you're doing a 250hr service on an excavator, the ground and tools are that much farther away. Each machine is different. 12gallons of oil, and fuel filters. Better bring the kitchen sink. Although getting up and down from underneath a Toyota is comparable. It's easier on the body when the grounds not that far away.

Ha I wish. It's a public ground, just a big caynon I've been hunting for 15+ years, taken many nice bucks from it. No one hunts it really, doesn't look like anything would be in there.

Nice, got this guy about 2 miles in, fucker ran all the way to the bottom when he died. The pack out sucked, but once we got back to the truck went to town for beers.

Can't complain about that. In and out. The pack out is definitely the worst part but makes the story. If everyone was able to tag out by 10am, women and children would be doing it.

    Or so I've heard ..

I know a few ladies that have taken bigger bucks than me while I eat tag soup.

Suprising seems like it's been a good year with this cold weather so early. There was two big bulls killed where I was this weekend, saw another one in the back of a truck on the way home on the freeway. Last Thursday saw another big bull getting on the freeway around stampede pass coming back from Seattle and know of another bull getting dropped over by rim rock area. A friend of mine got drawed and is up by the goat rocks big bull hunting passed up a small 5c5 last weekend and two 3x3.

I haven't shot a bow since I was a kid. I was thinking about giving muzzle loader a go and maybe bow some year after that. So next year, muzzle. Maybe.

    congrats @utroda !

Honestly the amount of game taken isn't that much in archery compared to the amount of tags. We've had a WDFW biologist work out of our office for the past couple of months and it was pretty interesting learning and talking about the harvest numbers. I've been lucky enough to take game for the past 5-6 years in a row out of this canyon.

Nice, haven't tried muzzle, did modern rifle until i couldn't do the youth hunt anymore. Heading to Idaho next month though for a rifle elk hunt. First time hunting idaho so we'll see how it goes.

that non res tag price is tough. I do deer over there and haven't wanted to pay for both yet. Would also like to do Eastern Oregon elk some year. And I keep talking to my uncle about hunting in B.C. with him. Wonder what that would cost. But they get to do deer, elk, moose, caribou at a pretty successful rate.

A friend just bought some land in Idaho that he says has a lot of animals on it. We haven't had very good look in our area (Naches-ish, by Whistlin' Jacks) the last few years, so I think I might just plunk down the money for an out of state tag in Idaho.
