I'm thinking about getting my bedliner coat spray. What do y'all think? Or do some of y'all have it spray?

I don’t have mine sprayed but I am definitely interested to hear what others say to this topic. I asked linex about getting mine done and they said that it would probably flake off. I felt like saying what’s the difference of doing our beds vs the fenders

You don’t have a bed liner the bed is composite .
Get a OEM bed mat and call it a day

Why would you need any spray coating in the bed?

Fenders or fender flares I assume is what you are meaning, have less surface area and is less likely to be abused everyday, whereas the bed is a larger area and more likely to get used, which in turn increases the chances of peeling or flaking. Also, the prep work involved takes less time on the flares as well as any touch up needed will cost less. If they did the composite bed and stood behind their work the chances of losing money are increased vs. doing the flares.

Bedliner will not stick to the composite bed.

Yes. In fact you’ll find most applicators will refuse to do it because it will just flake off.
Its really just a waste of money because the Tacoma beds are composite.

Yup. When I first got my truck I asked a few places if they would spray and they said, no. It wouldn’t stick and they would literally have to sand the plastic off for it to work.

Unless you use it. Like a truck. Shoveling out crushed shell, mulch or #4 limestone could be detrimental to the condition of the bedrug.

@Tig3r_Bit there are some posts around here (maybe 2nd gen forum) where folks have had their composite bed sprayed. Looked fine, but IMHO is a waste of time/money.

If the inside of your bed is scuffed up and you don't want to look at it, put a tonneau on it. It will cost less and potentially add some functionality.

Makes sense. It just would be nice to have done so it’s not so slippery. I do have the mat but yeah. And sorry about that. Yes fender flares

Bed mat and your good. Can’t see how you would use a bed rug without getting it trashed. Maybe good for groceries or if you use your bed to sleep in with a topper.

Common misconception. The Bedrug is actually quite durable. Sure some items may trash it, but those same items will trash a rubber mat.
    Love having options!

Absolutely, and it protects the tailgate and sides too. Haven't been to tough on mine yet, but so far its holding up perfect

Use mine for hauling all the time, have a rubber bed mat and it works great keeping things from sliding around
