Kinda interesting, they're actually copper. Mine are super heavy compared to a normal AZ plate. But they cost a lot and I don't really need them, I'm just getting collectors insurance instead, which exempts you from emissions.

Huh. Vehicles from the late 90’s qualify as historic?

Well I thought that it was 25 years or older but apparently that's not the case given Andrew has them on an 02. So I dunno. There are criteria but maybe its not strict

So you said insuring it is a difference? How so?

You can insure a vehicle licensed as a collectors vehicle however you want but you only get a break from emissions and yearly registration if you insure it with collectors insurance "which demands you have another vehicle as a daily". But you can do this with normal plates too so the plate is mostly just because it's 25 years or older. That's why I ditched my coppers for normals plates. I can put the extra $35 toward insurance that exempts me from emissions and yearly registration.

Truck's all fixed now, shock buckets gussetted & fixed the areas where they were cracked. And welded on the top plates that I made.

Picked it up my yesterday morning. Got home & had to reroute the oil filter relocator lines because of the gussets. Also took it back all apart & repainted everything. She good as new now. Just finished putting my apron seals back on & can't even see the gussets now. I thought for sure I would have had to cut them to fit but nope.

    Thanks again @glorifiedwelder

Looks like they did a really nice job on everything! I'll have to make some top rings like those, seems wise with the icon top hat, and I really like how my Icons ride.

Thanks! Tell you what, if you can't get them made for cheaper, when I get the garage back in order I'll make you a set. Just pay material cost & shipping, I won't charge you for labor. Material & shipping would probably be around $36. Should be much cheaper to get these made though.

Yeah fairly common here in az . More of a doctors note than a prescription to show to the cops and also the glass company doing the install

I had a 91 4Runner that these came off of .a buddy of mine works at the DMV and He was able to recert the plate to match the truck vin so i have no trouble with the cops . Unfortunately I have to run an additional non historic plate in the back because I couldn’t buy an additional due to it not actually being 25+ older

Fair enough. Carry on. I withdraw the comment. :)

I am still trying to figure out this forum, myself. Comments have a way of showing up when I'm pages back, on whatever page I may be on at the time.. and then there's days yet to read through, at which point I'll see my comment again. Irritating!
