Not necessarily. You can have a pizza cutter that's wider than stock, it's just going to be much taller, too. It's more about the 80/85 aspect ratio than the actual width.

It just happens that the most common size for Tacomas is the 255/85r16.

Lots of people care. I care when people ask what kind of "struts" they should get for their Tacoma.

You can call them whatever you want, but the common nomenclature has been relatively standardized for a long time. Ask your tire shop for some pizza cutters and he's not going to give you some 265/75's.

I get all that. I'm saying who cares that frizzman is busting people's balls over posting up 33x10.5's. How specific does each of these threads need to be? Ultimately it's information with pics for people to reference.

His issue seems to revolve around the fact that it's not very useful posting picks of "not pizza cutters" in a thread about "pizza cutters."

He has a valid point. It'd be like if someone posted a question about their turbo setup and someone chimes in with how they set up their supercharger.

The tires is question were 265/75's, which is not a 33, it's more like a 31.5.

I know what size a 265/75 is. I was talking about the 33x10.5's that someone posted a picture of last page. Just like I said two posts ago.

While I can't comment intelligently on the intent of frizzmans post about the width of 33's, I did already take issue with using the width of a tire as the determining factor for being called a pizza cutter. Having quoted my post, I assumed you read that part.

Do 30x9.5R15 qualify? These are the tallest KO2 tires I could find for my 6 inch wide wheels.

34x9.5's for me. Actually they are closer to 33" than 34"

Pizza cutters have nothing to do with stock. It's about height vs width. I run 33x10.50s on stock wheels and they are considered pizza cutters by everyone I know.

This is BFG KO2 30x9.5R15. I have not seen any taller tire for 15x6 inch rim. The rim width prevents me from putting 10.5 wide tires. When i bought the truck 20 years ago it came with Michelin 235x75R15 M/S tires. They always look strange tiny. These KO2 are only 0.7 inch taller but somehow look 100% better and my speedometer is only 1% off (used to be 4% off). I wish I could fit 31x10.5R15 there, but on 6 inch wide rim it is a bit dangerous.

What width are the stock aluminum wheels from the same era? I run 33x10.50 on them just fine.

235/85 R16 Toyo AT3s love them so far. I have 3:91 gears so I think 4:56 gears are in my future along with an ARB air locker. Time to start 30BBDCB2-85F5-4BED-9842-94BDB6CB4363.jpg scrounging up some Tundra stock 16 hole steelies though, I think the 8” Tundra steelies are too wide....

I ran the bfg km2s in a 255/85/16 and liked the size but hated the e rated tire, won't ever run one again on my truck. But it also took a big drag on power and mileage and I have yet to install my supercharger, so without gearing it wasn't for me. And I only plan to regear once and that'll be for 35s.

So for now I'm sticking with the rubicon takeoffs 255/75/17 in a c rating, which are a great size for a stockish tacoma
