How stupid will I look if I take advantage of a tropical storm to go out hunting for mud pits and bad logging roads and end up getting stuck?

Real stupid. Though if you manage to die in the process, you won't need to worry what people think.

When you get stuck, VERY. The LAST thing first responders need is to have to drag your ass out when they have other people in real trouble.

Ask @Jamesboy2233 how well Tacomas mix with water.

I know it's temping to go out and use all that new fancy electronic A-trac and crawl control stuff because the salesman said it's super cool and can go anywhere, but it does NOT make you a better driver, or a safer one. Just a couple weekends ago there were 3 3rd gens in So Cal that F'ed themselves up real good doing real bonehead things on what should have been easy trails (forest roads), likely at least partially due to the false sense of security they got from their electronic traction control features.

Start slow. Just find some preferably dry forest roads to drive and work your way up in skills and equipment. Go with people more experienced. Have a plan, get safety/recovery gear, don't die.

We didn't get flooding rain here. I didn't have the opportunity to do anything really stupid. Most I've done is hop a few 12 inch curbs at work.

It's buried in the lunch table thread somewhere... There were unrelated to each other. Pure Coincidence, apparently.

I saw a thread a while ago where some people found an abandoned 3rd gen (might have been a 2nd gen?) on The Laurel Lakes trail in CA (near Mammoth Mtn). Truck had a flat tire, but nothing else appeared wrong. The assumption is that he got a ride into town.

    EDIT: found the posts. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ral-discussion.551852/page-1634#post-18691653
