My vote would be for switch pros. The system is fantastic, comes Bluetooth enabled, and the customer service is second to none! I can’t say enough about their integrity and the willingness to go out of their way to please customers. I had one in my Jeep and when the time comes I’ll be purchasing one for the taco.

You can get Bluetooth for either now I believe, but I think the SPOD requires you to get their more expensive model (maybe that’s changed). It’s been a year or so since I looked at them. I prefer the control panel for the switch pros also. The SPOD one is real nice and a customizable touchscreen, but I don’t need all that. I think finding a place to mount the switch pros control panel is easier in our trucks as well - it blends in a bit better IMO. I wouldn’t hesitate on either though. When I had an SPOD, their customer service was top notch.

The HD comes with a Bluetooth module. It's a sweet little switch setup. I wish someone would make a mounting plate at the left cubby hole

    A few minor things...
I went with switches. I did the 3D printed key cubby switch plate and the spare right below it. I mounted a bussmann relay box under the hood on a custom aluminum plate with an 80 amp breaker. I did it DIY so I knew everything about it, everything is serviceable/replaceable, and there are no complex electronics that I can't troubleshoot without days of downtime.

I have 5 relay and 5 straight power (all fused up to 15a each) running various things so my battery isn't cluttered.

So far I have my airlift 72000 compressor going through R1, A bumper light bar on R2, Rocklights on R3, Bed lights and underhood lights on F1 with seperate switches, and a beefy USB charger on F2 for ignition-off USB charging at whatever current you can pull.

I did all of this (switches and relays, waterproof weatherpack connectors, wires) for around $400. It was more labor intensive and cheaper but more satisfying to build something myself. I have enough spare pins, gromets, insulators, and wire to build 3-4 more setups if I want to. I'm currently putting one together for my boat. All I need is the waterproof case and more relays!

If I were to do it again I'd take a closer look at the switch pros setup, I'm not a huge fan of the spods system physically (from what I've seen online), I do like the switch pros flat panel and seamless integration for a few extra $$$

Got any pictures of this setup? I’d love to do a DIY, but it’s always intimidating.

I followed a really well documented guide online, I don't have any pics of my setup so I'll link what I have for now

    The Switch Panel

The complete guide for everything bussmann This is literally the bible for this wiring/relay method. It goes super in depth. If this is too much for you there are several people on ebay that make and sell them for a little more than the supplies and wire (if you weren't buying in bulk). here's an example. I did not search very hard, just clicked the first one I saw.

Meso makes a bunch of options including for Switch Pros.. haven’t read through the thread to see if it’s in the works already, but maybe you could request a sPOD plate? My switch pro was able to mount in the cubby space after I took out the OEM box. It isn’t flush but it’s been fine for 6+ months

It doesn't get any cleaner than sPOD. No extra fuse block or wiring needed.

Does that thing behind your sPod have something to do with your dual batteries?

Yes. It's a multi stage battery charger/isolator for the aux battery.

Also, how did you mount that thing in the cubby?

With the included bracket and hardware. Mounts right inside the cubby. Had to drill a hole in the back of the cubby for the Cat 5 cable that connects the HD panel to the sPOD SE unit.

Where'd you find a 4 switch replacement for that cubby? I purchased the shapeways item a forum member made, but it's only 3 additional spaces. TIA!!!

Cause I'm too cheap to buy an SPOD...

Feniex 4200 Mini. It's a good option. You do have to run your own relays and wires and such, but the switch unit itself is great if you don't need more than 6 switches. $99. So far I only have my ARB compressor hooked up to it, but I have two more wires run ready to hook to whatever accessories I get next.

Just a point of order as I mentioned before that I'm using a switchpro and a fuse block... the switch pro, like the sPOD, doesn't require a fuse block. My fuse block is for accessories I didn't want on a switch pro (or an sPOD).

Gotcha! I've already used that space where you have the rear camera. I thought maybe you had a 4 button cubby up top.

the SPOD now has an APP so you can run all your switches on a tablet or a phone so it will work out well for me I can run my airlift airbag APP and GAIA GPS all on my tablet or phone in the cab or around the camp site.
