This is the best idea I've heard so far... very smart

Except the radio turns off just when you go to start the car to save voltage so it wouldnt work

Meh, sunroofs kinda suck imo. In these trucks at least since they don't actually open, just flip up. I'd rather my truck not have it

I never use them, the one on my cruiser is closed always with the shade over it. And i made sure the Z came with the t-top covers just so if I have them in there isn't light coming in

Mine doesn't have a cover which is the main reason I don't like it. But yeah having it open doesn't really do anything other then more wind noise, doesn't really vent anything

I never understood the point of sunroofs either TBH, especially on a truck...other than that they are 'rare' on 1st gens so it's sort of cool to say that you have one, I guess.

My old Scion had a moon roof and a sun roof and in 6 years I think I opened them maybe 3 times.

I just wish the ones in Tacomas had a built in sliding cover like every other car ever haha

One of the Maximas we've had over the years had the glass roof option (whole top of the car was beautiful black glass) and you could choose how to open the interior shades... never used it once

The one in my sisters car is more a pain in the butt than anything. Gotta keep the drain drain clear or it will clog and stink up the car.

Oh man when I got the cruiser I had to rod those drains out hardcore cause they were clogged up solid, now it drains outside instead of on the passengers foot.

Hers still drained, but super slow. It let the moldy leaf water sit and made the car smell like butt.

yeah the first one I had also had the infamous weak trunk handle...thing snapped off after the first year and Toyota refused to fix it under warranty. If you look at any of the early Scions on the road (2005-2008 or so) they ALL have a broken hatch/trunk handle, and most people just tape them back on.

Although I had 2 of those cars and the first went to 150k with no issues other than that, the second I sold at 80k for my Tacoma and it never had one single issue. They were reliable little cars I'll give them that

In AZ opening windows or their associated shades is a bad idea unless it is night time. But I do like removing pieces of my roof sometimes like the Z does and having the sunroof open at night can be nice if is is under 95F (not often). The Z roofs are really tinted
