I have a 2007 Camry that sits more than it gets driven. (Daily driver is my Tacoma or course). It is in a car port that is open, the front of the car sticks out of the car port and cats are on it all the time. It gets rained on a lot in the winter. I bought a cheap $22 cover from Walmart to see if owning one was worth it as every time I want to drive it, I have to wash it. The $22 cover worked ok for a few years before it developed a big rip and had to be tossed. I had to take the cover off in the winter as it would never stay on in any kind of wind, but in the summer the car was always nice and clean when I took it off... and less spiders. Between the cats and weather, the paint takes a beating. The $22 cover did help. Now, I’d like to replace the cover, but with a decent to good quality one that will Not blow off in the wind. We get some nasty storms in the winter. What brands have given members here good performance and stay on in the wind?

Don't do it. My dad inherited my grandpas Pontiac. He restored it but didn't have garage space, so parked it outside with a cover. The cover, over time, abraded the paint on the hood and trunk, ruining it. I think no cover is better than even the best cover...

I don't know if they are in business anymore but I've always used California Car Cover . I have one for my Isetta but its kept inside. My brother had a RX7 that was kept outside, it was covered with a CCC one also. They are great because they are made for your make and model.

I can’t get the California Car Cover web site to work. Most of my research has come up with Covercraft. I know this subject is of mostly zero interest in this forum, but I need to research this carefully. Too much money to spend on something that does not do what it is advertised to do.

When you are doing your research look for a cover that has a microfiber type soft inside. That seems to cause less abrasion.
I bought one with dealership credit that was super thin and shiny like a space suit. Sold it on Craigslist months later. Would not recommend that type of cover as it is blinding and flaps around in the wind.
I think I have seen discounted pricing through Costco too...
