3rd Brake Light Antenna Mount

there are a few of us interested. i want to say there are a bunch of folks that would go in on this but i can't speak for the group. c'mon internet!

Question for anyone that's taken a 2nd gen light assembly out: Are there screws attached to the back of the light housing? Will the headliner have to be removed?

 

Interested in a single mount.

 

I replaced my 3rd Brake light with the MESO Baja Designs one and the headliner did not have to be removed, also, the screws are independent of the housing.

Well, got tired of waiting so I made my own. Currently being painted. Then I can replace the 1/4 wave mag mount to a permanent mount.

Looks good I plan to work a design up in CAD myself and do my own, OP does not seem to have any control or sense of timeline when or if his will be available.

I will be making a different template later in the week for the @mesojdm BD 3rd Brake Light, as well as creating a more refined version of the OEM one pictured above, probably this weekend.

Edit: I'm still interested in OP's idea and would love to buy a dual antenna mount if it comes to fruition and works with the MESO light, this was just me messing around with some cardboard in my spare time.

 

Interested Too, someone make any of these concepts for a 2nd Gen, I am too Chicken Shit to Drill Roof!

I wonder how thin of a metal I can get away with?
I’ve got a lot of thin metal(16 gauge iirc) I used to plate my bumper, can build one out of that.

I would think thin is better in getting it to fit with 3rd Brake light plus a Antenna with mount doesn't weigh much. Could put some kind of rubber under to head off any paint rubbing/ scrapping.

 

Looks good! I'd like to think about one that goes back towards the cab above the light so it doesn't interfere with my cap.

Or maybe like @Maveric idea, just a bit taller

 

Work has been kicking my a** lately, as soon as I get some free time I will be making the two prototypes (OEM and mesojdm). As well as potentially making my own thread for it so we don't jack this one any more than we already have if there is enough interest in my designs.
