Loved the power and torque of my Tundra.
    That thing was a beast.
Their'd be new one sitting in my driveway right now, but it just isn't practical for my individual situation at present.

i'm so confuse, my truck is 2 weeks old and reading this im not sure if I need this TSB update. since mine is new im sure they did this update to my truck already. it's my first time owning a truck and coming from driving small cars only im just trying to get use to how it handles and how a truck drives. what do I need to look for for this TSB update?

Its almost certainly not done. Mine is a July '18 build and it was not done. Check your calID with an OBDII scanner, compare to that noted on the TSBs in this thread, just a few posts back. Most new vehicles shift a lot as mileage is more of a priority, but this thing was ridiculous.

You're likely going to want the update. And it's doubtful your truck came from the factory with the update.

When accelerating 0-30mph, does it sort of feel like the pedal goes dead or power drops off at some point before you hit 40mph?

Does the truck ever downshift and then suddenly rpm's are really high?

For anyone with the TSB who thinks their truck is reverting back to some pre-tsb habits... has anyone tried unhooking the battery for 30 minutes to reset the learning module?

I've read that if you do that, it will all reset and the truck will start the "learning process" over. Would be interesting to see if it reverts back to how it was immediately after getting the TSB.

After all the research and test drives I was very aware of the "condition" and had it done day after delivery.

Took mine (2017 Sport DCLB) in for 10k service last week... Trying to figure out what exactly they did - hoping someone can help me out. Brought in three TSB sheets (58, 62, and one for the squeaky leaf spring issue - mine is really bad and I can hear it while driving with windows up!). No questions asked about shifting, etc. aside from what I told them about when I set up the appointment and had non-10k service issues to address. They called later and said everything was done, so I went to pick it up and saw the printout/ heard from the rep. They did an ECM reprogram according to TSB - 0077-16. A little research shows this to be a reprogram for shifting issues for early 2016's, and I have no idea if there are updated revision, or if the re-program is the same as the two TSB's mentioned on here and what I left with them. Haven't had a chance to drive it a bunch, but it did seem to help the main problem I experienced, which was really jerky shifting when coming off a "coast" under about 30 mph. Really noticed this issue when rolling a stop sign or similar and getting back on the gas, it would really jerk, instead of a smooth movement back into acceleration. But I'm curious if this reprogram addresses the other issues. Could they be dumb/ bad enough to reprogram the ecu with an out of date program?? How can I tell what they actually did with my ECU reprogram?

On top of that, they said they lubed some suspension/ leaf spring parts and that the issue should be resolved. I got in my truck and sitting in it caused the usual slow squeak. Right back into the desk and asked about that issue. You can see on the invoice they initially said the sound couldn't be replicated. they sent out some upper level service tech and went outside and I pushed down on my bed and showed him how bad it was. He checked on the serial number and said they'd order the tsb parts (new pads for leaf springs) and they'll do the work this week, no problem. Guy said all techs aren't aware of the TSB's/ issues... What about pushing on the bed by hand and getting a loud ass noise is not being able to replicate the complaint?? Anyways, I got home and in the mail was the recall letter for the HVAC blower box. So back this week for that recall work and new leaf spring pads... and maybe a second ECU flash?? Thx in advance...

Just dropped mine off, waiting. Gave them all three TSB PDFs printed out. 20k mile service with a tire rotation.

I have the OBD2 with me and Car Scanner on my phone to check.

    I'm
Not seeing a screen like yours. Is it because I'm in an '18? Mine doesn't have the individual trip info. Nor does it say "accessory" at the bottom. Hmm.

Mine just has a "tank average".

You can use the carista obd2 with the car scanner app to see the id.

There's a settings option on one of the screens that allows you to change up what shows up on each scroll screen.

Edit: also, I think that screenshot is the same screen that shows up when you turn off the truck after a trip.

It's one of the data points that are configurable on the three screen display. It's the average mpg from the last start. That said mileage on the way home, which is more uphill, was 21.7.

Use this button and press the down arrow once if you are at the screen that shows your speed digitally.
