No. Very very seldom do I use any customer reviews for anything. I research a product or service and, if available, will use a professional review (cnet, Consumer Reports, Edmonds, etc) to make a decision. Now, I will look at a group of reviews (Amazon five star ratings for example) but not individuals.

Nothing against people, but most have no clue and let emotion instead of fact become a part of the process.

Good luck man. In the future, try to keep passion and emotion out of your decision process.
I was taught a long time ago by a very wise professor (Engineering Physics III) that, "If it cannot be measured, it does not exist." He also taught me "An idea without a plan is just a wish." Those and many more sayings have shaped my professional life in profound ways.

I’m with ya brother...You hired a business to provide a service...that business failed to meet that obligation by providing workers not skilled in the tasks assigned to them. When you can see the mistakes right in the finish... you know the work is bad! You can defend that review with impunity...lawyers make me wish I had more middle fingers!

My point is there's lawyers involved, you're out time and money, and this review, honestly, serves no other purpose than to make YOU feel better.

If I were you, I'd post a review and stop worrying about it. If they take it down, who cares? You tried.

    Life is too short.

I only read through a few pages. That being said, as other already stated, the letter is just a threat.

I would be cautious goin forward. Especially since now you posted here and idiots are already asking for the review link and the shop info and want to write their own review without doing business. This is slander and can be linked back to you because of your post here. I’m not sure if you ended up getting giving out their info. If not don’t. If so, well now you might have some issues because of some jackasses here. Have a mod close out this thread and be happy they covered most of their damages.

I would simply state in the review what happened, that you were unhappy with the quality of work, you appreciate the fact they did step up to cover the repair costs of what was originally found. And if the body shop was fixing their work, and didn’t notice the harness cut, that’s more of their fault. You signing that form stops then from being liable for future issues. Just take the hit as a lesson learned. If you werent happy with the work, you should of better inspected it yourself, or made sure the next shop fully did. Especially if they were willing to pay for any/all damages.

My advice is shut thisbthread down and move in with your life. You’ve learned a lesson don’t let someone here make this matter worse

It's very simple guys - If you write a review (and you should) make sure it is factual and has zero opinions and zero emotion. Don't use words like "bad" or "deceptive" or "crooks" or "assholes." Don't say things like "it made me mad because...". Just the facts. Nobody can ever get into trouble by stating fact. It's when you start stating your opinion that you can get into trouble. However, apparently very few people can control themselves and write an honest, factual review.

This is why I don't even read customer reviews on a product or business. Somehow they think their opinion (lazy, slow, stupid, idiotic, deceptive, etc) are facts. They aren't. Just because YOU think that business was slow does not mean everyone else thinks it is slow.

    Wrong Way
Example: I went to to the Toyota dealer "X" yesterday to get my oil changed. It took forever! Plus those crooks charged me an arm and a leg! Worse yet, when I got home I noticed a scratch on the door and dirt on my mats. Never take your vehicle there as those assholes are just a bunch of dirty bums.

    Right Way
Example: I went to to the Toyota dealer "X" yesterday to get my oil changed. It took them 3 1/2 hours! My bill was $172.00 and the only charge on the invoice was oil, filter and labor. I think that this charge was excessive and the amount of time taken was too long. I won't be going back to this dealer for an oil change again.

These examples tell the exact same story in a vastly different way. In the "Wrong Way" example, there are no facts at all. In addition, it's impossible to prove they scratched the door and got dirt on the mats, unless you did a walk around with the service advisor before he took it in and a walk around before you took possession afterwards.

In the "Right Way" example, it states only the facts AND it states your opinion only. You cannot get in any trouble by stating fact as long as you have proof, like a receipt or time stamp.

Which "example" above is the better review?

I’m may be having to go into the dealer for a similar repair on 2-3 wires on that harness myself. Nothing other than backup camera seems affected and I also notice a ticking noise when the hood is open near the top drivers side engine block.

Did they replace the harness/whole group of wires or just run the affected wires or did they repair the wires in place somehow?

I dont mind paying around that price especially if they run a new harness or wires all the way and don’t hassle me over the CMC.

    thanks!

First off im goin to be honest...knowing im not alone makes me feel better lol . sorry this happened to u .
I noticed the casing cut and i could see wires. I took it Toyota. They said a new harness is in the thousands. They said it is not a big deal. They said there was one wire completely severed and two that were knicked. They repaired the wires . taped the shit outta it.

Yours was the only similar situation I could find so the feeling is mutual :). But yes, crappy to solve cmc and then move right into this. Not the best design to have that harness running right into the wheel well. Just a minor rub on the tube and now a few wires are affected. The angle grinder is beast though!

If the dealer just repaired the wires I may just attempt to solder the wires and replace the corrugated tubing and tape up myself. Similar to your situation I have about 2-3 wires to fix. Appreciate the feedback on the dealer.

You should've left your review instead of removing it. You are protected by various civilian laws regardless of their threats towards you involving a lawyer etc. You have the freedom of speech and of the press as well, specially when you have proof of everything. I have gotten court letters before from pure negligence from vendors and win them all. Remember that court letters are VERY different from a lawyers letter. Any lawyer can send you a letter for a small fee and submit to whatever the vendor wants you to do.

What evidence did you have this was an actual lawyer?
Did they provide you with an attorney number?

There are weird laws about how you can leave reviews and whether or not it can come back to bite you. Each state being different and circumstances changing interpretation of law of course.

They aren’t going to sue you. Its not cost effective unless they can go after an insurance policy... which in this case they cannot.

I think its either bull shit or their insurance company saw the post and had a dick weed lawyer write a threatening email.

If it were me I would ask for his atty number or get it off his firm website and report him to the attorney general.
