When Toyota came out with the first commercial, a band of 3rd gens breaking off the road across a sandy canyon, the blue was the star of the commercial. I thought that it looked great but thought the blue would flood the market. For that reason I searched high and low in late 2015 for a 2016 access cab sport in inferno. Well every one hitting the dealers, from Maryland to Florida to Texas, was sold before they hit the lot. I started searching anything, except black or silver, in a Sport access with rear wheel drive. I found mine in Maryland. As soon as I saw it on line I bought it via the internet. When I actually saw it in person I knew I made the right choice. As soon as I got home I did a nationwide search and only found 11 like mine in the whole country. There were more in double cabs. In the 2.75 years I have owned mine I have only seen 2 blue ones in my area and they were both double cabs. So I know this blue is going to be even more rare in the next few years. It would not surprise me if they return on another Tacoma someday. I love the color and the way it looks different shades under different sky conditions.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Same here -- around here I have seen a grand total of 2 BBP AC's other than mine. One was a sport and the other was a SR5. Of course mine is a AC as well --but mine is a SR5.
My dealer has a bunch of 18's on his lot now and for the first time in the last 19 months they have more than one BBP (most times -none) --3 --all full cabs. One is a limited with the (I think) ugly chromed SR5 grill.

    Same here in Canuckistan!

I had originally wanted the Cement or Black TRDOR but they couldn't get it, especially as I wanted a '17 since it doesn't have the TSS which I hate. The stealership said the easiest one to get was the BBP so I took it.

Now I'm seeing 3rd gens everywhere since getting mine and being on here, but i've only seen 1 other BBP. It's definitely the most unique colour in my region.

Hands down the nicest colour out there. When I first saw the second gens in 2015 I liked the dark grey. When I went and actually saw the trucks in person, the blue just stood out and I knew one day I would have it. I even stopped looking at them for a bit, saw another blue and instantly wanted a Tacoma again. Got mine just after that

My BBP was the only SR5 the dealer had in stock when I went in.
I took it cuz it’s what they had. Now I’m really happy I got the blue.

3 weeks in new 18 BBP DCSB 4x4 Premium/Tech/AW Floor mats/Bed mat/Tonneau cover. I'm coming from BMW 335i (hence my username) so it's taking some time to get use to power downgrade.

Great truck though. I plan to give to my son when he's of age (he's 7 now) and has proved worthy of such a gift!

    Mod list so far:
    Debadged bed
NFab Hooped Side Steps (gloss black)
    Yellow Fog Light Film
12v Solutions Remote Start with Cellular Option
    Center console organizer
Black TRD Exhaust Tip (gloss black)
    EGR In-Channel Window Deflectors
    Hitch cover

    Expecting this week:
    Tailgate Letter Inlay (gloss black)
    RockyMounts Bed Bike Fork Mount

    Short term:
    Matching tint

    Long term:
Bronze wheels w/ tires (once OEM Toyo set is worn)
    Bilstein/OME Lift (aesthetics)

I'm on the fence about the TRD Pro grill. I found a dealer in GA that has it reasonable priced but I don't know if I dislike the sport grill enough to get rid of it. I may just get the black bezel to get rid of the chrome.

This photo could probably fit on a few threads, but I figured it would be most appreciated here. Driving on USMC Base Camp Pendleton, I found this BBP DBCB SB 4x4, so I had to take a quick “twins” photo. Low and behold, 10 minutes later, I pulled next to another one, but I couldn’t get a photo of it. It would be kinda weird if all three of us ended up in the same place at once.

Mine is a 2018 ( on left ) and I think the others have to be ‘16 or ‘17s.

That slight difference in grill color makes a big difference .

I think Toyota ships most of the BBP's to the western US-- just my theory

Could be. When I had mine in the Boston area a Sport DCSB 4X4 in BBP didn’t come along often. Now I live in OC and maybe a couple more, but still seems rare. I drove across the country and never saw another BBP the entire drive.
Going up to Big Bear this week so prime opportunity to take some pics, now that the truck in pretty much finished. Amazing how many changes you can do in just a couple years.

the one on the right looks like a 16. you can tell a 16 from a 17 by the bezel around the sliding window. the 16s didn't have power rear sliders and don't have the plastic trim all the way around the window. they also have the latch on the drivers side of that window. i can't really tell from the pic, but it looks like the rear window has the thick trim around it.

Well it looks like BBP needs more help than I can drum up. if you hate your chrome bumper caps this guy has your solution. only problem is he needs more votes to for BBP to become a marketable color. He has since produced white, black, cement, quicksand and MGM. He says he's ready for another color run. so make this happen guys.

Although mine are already BBP and I'd rather have Matte Black, I voted BBP. And no, I can't trade because my Mrs. likes them as they are, so I'll have to plastidip after getting the tailgate graphics done.
