I really like the fresh clean look of leds on the outside of the truck so I got these bulbs look great but getting alot of glare on my camera. One picture is them on second I covered them. Do I take them out tweak the camera, find a way to shield the light some how. Thanks all

I noticed the same, with the lights covered so there was no light coming above the bumper, the glare was a lot less. I'm thinking a shade on the plate light fitting so the plate gets illuminated but the camera lens doesn't

No, just the first picture, a lot of glare from the license plate lights. However, the backup lights tend to wash out the cameras night vision bad also. I'm going to do the anytime camera mod soon, may install a front camera as well

I went back to the crappy incandescent bulbs because of this...

I ordered some Philips crystal vision halogen bulbs for the plate lights. I noticed in all the videos I watched that the LED are way too bright and light up the tailgate of the truck as well, and I don’t like that. I’ll post my results once they come in and I install them. Hopefully they’re white and a bit brighter but not obnoxious likethe LEDs

its because the camera is tuned to oem bulb intensity. you can compensate for this in the camera settings but it only goes so far. if you adjust for the led lights you make it too dark for day time use and vice versa.

The LED bulbs you have in, do they have an LED on the end of the light? Some manufactures have LEDS on the sides + an LED on the very end that fires out towards the license plate/camera.

That could be it. I know some people in the LED lighting conversion thread have led lights that just fire to the side. I'm not sure how much better they look..but could go pop your head over there and ask for a picture.

Just make it a habit that when you put it in to reverse, you turn off your head light switch.

I picked these up at oreilys the other day. They’re brighter than the stock bulbs and have a clean white light. I’d say the color temperature matches almost exactly with the bed can light, and the best part is there’s no glare on the back up cam

I adjusted my settings and they are better at night and ok for daytime as well. Turning off your light on the switch stock makes the biggest difference though.

This is the latest bulb has the leds on the side instead of the front better but I would still like it to be less.
