I noticed the difference immediately leaving the tire shop. That being said, it feels totally normal now.

If your throwing money at the truck for a lift and armor, add in $1400 for the front and rear 3rd members from ECGS and choose your gearing. That's what I'm doing.

I run 255/85/16s. The power loss is most noticeable on the interstate maintaining 80mph or so. On a flat it's no big deal but any hills you're downshifting. It obviously accelerates slower.

That said, it doesn't bother me enough to regear. If I were go to any bigger I definitely would.

Yeah, yeah! :D By the way, do you remember how heavy were the Dakars compared to the stock leaf pack? I don't want to add more weight to the truck! :)

    Little bit of stuff.
I've got 33x12.50r18 Toyo MT's. Noticed a decrease in power, but not enough to cause displeasure. She's also a 6 speed, so my gearing is a little different. I personally like having 1st and second gear being about 9% longer, and in 6th at 89ish I'm just barely touching 3k RPM.

don't have 33s..... I went from BFG ATs 265/70-17 to cooper stt pros 265-70-17 and noticed power loss because the coopers are so much heavier... leave it in 4 unless there is lots of open road then I switch to D

I went from 265/75 16 to 255/85 16 toyo mt. and the power loss was noticeable. And the braking I felt even more noticeable. I can feel the truck now not shifting correctly or it always wants to down shift and something just doesn’t feel right when it does down shift.
We drove Florida to Utah and I got 14-15mpg (not impressed)
I’m gonna use up my 255/85 and go back to 265/75. I personally don’t find the juice worth the squeeze.
My 265/75 bf Goodrich At. worked great and I will go back

I would never think that the weight of the rubber would affect the performance of the truck. You learn something new everyday!

I attribute most of my marginal power loss as well as decreased braking power directly to tire weight.

Thank you for that! I think that I will keep my 265/75r16. I love the look of the big tires, but these trucks are like women, the better they looks the bigger the problem.
