Wow ignorance is bliss. Some people just want shit to WORK and not fiddle with bloatware from samsung or any other vendor. Never had a problem with my iphone and my head unit. You're joking if you think android and its fractured operating system deployment is more compatible in the wild than iPhone

Always had Samsung phones never a single issue. Ditched apple 7 years ago and never looked back. Total proprietary crap. They totally trap you into a money pit. When a new phone comes out I swear they fuck the old iphones up so you have to go get the latest upgrade

What are you doing with your phone that is so advanced that you need to use apps outside of the google play or iOS App Store?

    Yeah.
I find that streaming audio quality is lacking and still prefer to put music on a USB stick. XM is slightly better, but not by much. Auto makers should stop trying to differentiate themselves with their "entertainment" systems and focus on sound quality and features specific to the vehicle (navigation, vehicle info and feature configuration), as well as easy and open integration with your personal device of choice -- it shouldn't matter if that is Apple or Android. Amazing that they spend so much time on Entune and still put those crap speakers in.

Why do you hate everything Tacoma/Toyota? I see you showing up on multiple threads and other members calling you out. Do you even own a Tacoma? If you do, and it's been such a headache, why not sell it and it get into a better brand for you? Right now KBB rated the Toyota Tacoma as #1 for resale value, so a great time to trade in/up.

Fair enough Jim...if it is really that bad I would have traded it in by now, Tacoma commands a better resale value than any truck out there.

This just in: "2020 Toyota's to include Apple CarPlay" trade in your 2016-18 today!

I agree with the others who have stated for automobile manufactures to give the entertainment design to the mobile device companies. They have already proven they can do it better with navigation...

Before thinking CarPlay and android auto are so important, go use them.

I had them in my last car and after 1 year of trying to like them have concluded they're garbage. I have both an S8+ and iPhone. Regular bluetooth is much better.

I'm glad they aren't in the Tacoma.

The shitty thing is that I will now have to find a way to mount my damn phone within reach to control Pandora. Not much space to find with the large "infotainment" screen.....which is now losing much of its utility.

Many people seem to be considering Pandora to be obsolete? What have you gone to that has a robust algorithm for suggesting new music? I've tried Spotify a couple years ago and was not impressed.

Pandora just plays the same songs over and over, currently I use Google play for music and it's much better than pandora will ever be honestly
