Probably. But be interesting to see how it all pans out in the spring. Got a couple kids who sound promising. Yankoff has my vote right now but mostly cause I wouldn't mind a QB who could actually scramble

Every team in the nation has the same opportunity to climb the mountain, to get that recruit, to work harder, to play better.

Keep in mind, the NCAA didn't actually like Alabama. Almost black balled em. There was no reason for the NCAA to suddenly "like" Alabama. Well, except for the quick turn around in 2008.

I remember distinctly sitting on a buddy's couch watching ESPN during the USC hay days, thinking.....

    "I fucking hate USC."

You know why, because I was jealous. That's it. I was sick of hearing about USC for 30 minute segments. And, I wanted Alabama to be that.

    Jealousy.

So, I've been there. I've wanted my team to be in the lime light. To dominate. To have the best players. Did I expect a decade of success? No, I would have sufficed with a season of dominance.

Did everyone bitch, piss and moan about USC getting "gifts" in the football world, or just in the real world?

here we go again with that "we're on a pedestal" mentality.

show me an example of USC being "gifted" anything by chance or whatever it may be.

I've never hated teams because of their success. They're all kids and I want them all to be successful. I hate teams because of fan bases that I have to deal with.

That is exactly what I was asking. Were they gifted anything?

I'm not coming from a position of on a pedestal. If you receive it that way, that is your own biases.

Also, pretty strange paradigm of hating a team because you have to deal with the fan base. I'd suggest you move if you foster hate over it.

by "hate" I don't mean it keeps me up at night, it's just a nuisance. wrong choice of word I reckon, my bad.

It also depends on the fan base, because I have to deal with Auburn fans and they're just fine.

I deal with Ohio State fans. On the regular. They act like OSU has won every championship, ever. Is it annoying, yes.

Alabama has 5 NCG wins in the last decade. They actually played in the game, and won it 5 times out of 10. That's the truth. Arguing over whether they deserved to be there is moot. They were there. It happened. Its over.

What happens this year is yet to be seen.

So take your first sentence and apply it to how we deal with Bama fans.

To me, that should change the way you (not you specifically but a fan in general) act. Confidence is great, arrogance is asinine. Like claiming LSU is gonna beat Georgia for sure lol, just asinine.

Just to throw a wrench in the convo...

    Neb over Michigain this Saturday...

Why? Because we have no reason to win that game, which means we might. Based off the past two weeks of frustration. :fingerscrossed::D

Not Hating just using teams as examples:
Alabama, Ohio, Clemson (now), USC, Oregon, Texas (early 2000's), Miami, Florida, Notre Dame ( 90's), doesn't matter who, when a team plays good for several years all the hype and media flock to them and they get preferential treatment in the rankings. AP (totally bias), Coaches (easily influenced by conference ties) and the BCS is somewhat influenced by both. A top team will always remain close to it's starting position unless they have more than one significant win/loss.

The system does fairly well at getting the teams rank correct but it is susceptible to opinion.

I just would like to see a system that isn't bias in any way and we get to see the best play the best.

Who is "we"? And why is everything so generalized? Why do you apply how you feel about Jimbob the bammer homer to me?

Somehow, this seems to have turned into a Bama vs. the rest of the NCAA. So, if that is the case, can you understand how having 119 other fan bases arguing or attacking against you can be tiresome? As a fan, we have no say in how the schedules are made. We have no say in how the BCS computers were programmed. We have no say now, in who the committee selects. We also have no say in who the NCAA decides to award a National Championship to, especially retroactively.

It has gotten really old trying to defend, even with proof, Alabama being deserving of consideration.

You know what? I'm done defending. It is pointless, and honestly, if anyone has an argument about it, they should contact the NCAA. hahaha.

I prefer NFL, but my dad always wants me to run a college league so I do it for him. Might have to put my foot down next year and say no lol. I just don't enjoy it much.

Way too many choices and possibilities in college.

Guess you could just do a full Bama team :D

Didn't you post about someone doing that?
