Took the truck in today to the dealership to have the new parts installed (spacers). The mechanic drove it around afterwards and still has the whine. He brought it back in and hooked it up and called Toyota. The are now saying it is in the rear differential. Toyota has informed them that they need to order a new rear differential and have it installed. They have ordered it and will install it supposedly next week. He said that sometimes the rear gears are just ever so slightly machined off and it could be creating that whine. Not even sure what that means. I will keep everyone posted.

It could be a mis-machined gear-set, it could be an improperly set-up gear set.... Could be a bearing on the pinion or any part of the 3rd member. THought there was a post somewhere that a member stated theirs was a wheel bearing which is possible....

Talked to my Toyota Case Manager today and they want me to take it back into my dealer again. Great, more miles on my truck for them to tell me that it is "a trait of these trucks"... That is total BS and something is not right.

So my wife has complained about the brake vibes when she drove it the night I bought it and again later that week. I never felt it but she does. Nice to know what she was feeling so I can let her know that it is normal and neither of us are going crazy.
