This is why my minimum tent size was King sized. Still not sure there is room for HH6 and Ragnar.

I like the idea of putting carpet on the steps, but I also didn't want to do that much work. We one of those collapsable cloth baskets right outside the door and just keep flip flops or shoes in there. Then you can sit at the top, put on the shoes and go up and down without the pain.

last winter the mattress was a little thin. But the coming winter, Ill have a new tent with an ABS/fiberglass bottom. I hope that will help. I was just looking for some suggestions or reviews of down blankets, if anyone is using them.

Get a thick one :). Especially since weight isn't an issue.

The one problem with blankets is they let cold air under, and inside the tent is colder than inside your house. A sheet or lighter under-blanket helps, but ultimately there is a reason sleeping bags are such a good answer.

Or just climb the laderl in shoes, then turn around and take them off before getting in the tent.

I may look into pool noodles for midnight pee breaks though.

Getting set to do our first road trip to the Grand Tetons/Yellowstone with our new bedrack and RTT setup. How are you guys with a similar setup securing your open cargo in the bed of the truck when leaving away from the truck? This is my concern when we want to go do hikes for a few hours.

    Yeah.
I have 2 large Rubbermaid Action Packers that can be padlocked, but not everything fits in them (like cooler, portable grill) and they also keep stuff dry. They can't be pulled out with the tailgate locked.

For years, literally years, I watched this thread hoping someday I would have a gray Tacoma with a RTT. Well, last year I got the gray 3rd gen and yesterday I got a Tepui.

I know this isn’t rtt specific but I’m trying to figure a diy solution for mounting accessories on my bed rack. No modular plates for mounting so I’m working with just the pipes. Anyone have another thread or solutions?
