True story. Must be 30 years ago. Looked out the window at nite and saw a... armadillo??!! Went out with a light and he ran into an open door on my barn. I followed and he had stuck his face in a corner, just hiding I guess. I thought no one would believe me, an armadillo? So, capture him! I grabbed him by the tail, picked him up and he went wild, but I held on. Then what do I do? Hey I have a 55 gal barrel with the top cut off, I'll drop him in there and show everyone in the morning.
Empty barrel the next morning. I guess they can jump. And no one believed me.
Didn'y see another one for probably 5 years. Shot him. Proof! :)

I've been looking at the 10/22 Silent SR or the new Mark IV suppressed. They look fun as hell.

I have the Silent SR Suppressor, that I swap between my 2ea 10/22's and SR22. I hope to buy a Mark IV soon, to use that on.

I recommend going that route, that way its one tax stamp between several weapons.

Yep, as long as the barrel/thread size matchup.

    This is what I use.

    Benjamin Trail Nitro Piston .22

Quieter than a hand clap and punches through 1/2" plywood so an armadillo should be easy (never tried an armadillo but it is devastating on tree rats)

Pellets are just subsonic so there is no "crack" as the pellet breaks the sound barrier.

I also have a high powered Ruger Air Magnum in .177 that sounds like shooting a normal .22.

It's around 1200 fps. The biggest benefit of the Ruger is that it has fiber optic open sights so you don't have to use the scope.

These high powered air rifles are a hoot and of course extremely cheap to shoot.

I prefer the Nitro piston rifles to the spring rifles as they have a less jumpy recoil.

Not as quiet, but much more fun.

Friend of mine's dad was kicked out of college for shooting a deer out of his dorm room window and cleaning it in the dorm showers.

I was looking at the Silent SR too. Friend of mine talked me out of it with one question. Do you want a silencer that's dedicated to one gun or one you can move around to multiple guns?

Park rangers arrested a tourist after he walked onto the Old Faithful geyser and apparently urinated into it in front of hundreds of horrified tourists at Yellowstone National Park.

Really, the tourists were "horrified" by the site of a peeing dude? "Horrified"? Pretty sure they were not "horrified", maybe pissed off or shocked.

The sensationalism the media does makes me shake my head on a daily basis.
