Truth. I actually use to climb and had all my own gear for side work, I had my own 201T I brought in to work cuz the 200T supplied took a shit. After my boss took it to be serviced a few places and they couldn’t correct the saw I asked my boss if I could keep it and tinker with it. I actually completely forgot that I held onto that saw years after I moved on from climbing and sold all my gear. When that saw popped back up I asked @Wheelspinner if he could take a look at it. He literally did what no shop could do.. He completely rebuilt the saw and even tuned it. It runs like a champ. So I actually have the older model 200T now.

200t for life. I’m gonna keep rebuilding them until it’s impossible to find parts. Any mods to a 201 short of a port an polish still can’t keet up with a stock 200

I have a Mc culluch mini mac on the garage shelf, waiting to be worked on. Would be a great trail saw if its reputation wasn't that bad. All I hear from it is that they are hard to get started. May be a winter project, it would be great having it working again

Waddup friends! Nothing much going on here. I haven't done much of anything to the truck recently. I do have some gas tank straps with studs (meant for a skid plate) and I may build my own. I want some protection before I go back to AOAA in a month.

But your woman is back home, it is a pretty good reason to be slow on the build haha

It is sure not the best to have her far for long periods but it makes the time sent together feel good!

Is she back for a while or she has to leave again?

Very true! As they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder. And she's home for good now! I'm very thankful for that.

I saw a 3rd gen t4r gas tank skid and like the design of that. It doesn't use studs attached to the straps to mount it, but pre existing holes. I was kinda thinking of trying to make something like that for a gas tank skid. Or do something similar to trail toys uhmwpe skid but mounting it differently.

Haha exactly. Cut out a piece of metal, drill 4 holes, and weld some little guards in front of the bolt heads like pelfreybilt.

Bringing you in my build thread to keep the other on track.

I have the URD. Managed to snag it on craigslist for $30! The benefit of this is that it retains the stock shifter. This is good because the stock shifter is a two piece part, and the upper is rubber injected or something to help keep road noise out of the cabin. The downside is the design of the SS. It raises the shifter, adding an extension on the end. This puts a lot of leverage on the "ball" on the bottom of the shifter and there are a few reports of that snapping. I'm not worried because I'll just weld it back together if necessary.

The TRD is all once piece so this is less of a concern, but that also introduces more road noise. Even so, I believe the TRD is a superior SS. I would PM @gunny1005 and see what price he can get you on it, because his prices are great.

Thanks for the detail. I was aware of the potential snapping issue with the URD. As well as some of complaints about the increase in pressure to get it into reverse. Also heard about the TRD being superior, its just the cost vs benefit. URD with compromise for ~$150, or the better TRD for ~$450...
