It was 1967 or '68, so not quite prohibition era. I still remember when 70 oz. pitchers went from $1 to $1.25 in the early '70's, we were certain we'd have to cut back with such price gouging.

We bought beer on tap for 2.29 a gallon at the big cat gas station just over the railroad tracks in Opelika when I was at Auburn. Had a bar that did well drinks for a nickel after you paid the 5 dollar cover on Tuesdays and thursdays. Had decent burgers and wings there too

I was never a beer drinker when I was younger but I drank a lot of liquor. Sometimes to much at once. That's why I don't drink anymore. May the truth set you free.

you could have died. Take them to the cleaners. They have insurance for this stuff, one guy is out of a job, the guy who almost killed you. Maybe he'll learn to pay more attention while he's flipping burgers.

Well...you wouldnt be ruining anyone's life, the person responsible is the one who did that, but...your incident went about as well as it could've.

A loaner while they find a replacement vehicle is the bare minimum IMO...no way in HELL i would accept that to be fixed because of their fuck up. It'll never be the same, resale value will suck even more. Nope nope nope.

I'm not about suing for dumb shit, but if someone almost prematurely ends my life because of their lack of responsibility, and then tried to tell me they'd fix something that's almost totaled to try and save money...gloves come off. Just my opinion.

Don't sign shit without a hard copy that you read every line over a few days or legal advice. They give zero fucks about you and just want this to be swept under the rug and you to sign your rights away.

Just remember... They'll be happy to give you a handjob now to blackmail you later. That warm and fuzzy feeling they'll be giving you tomorrow has a 99% chance of bullshit in the fine print so stick to your guns, the ball is forever in your court, they have zero leverage until you sign a paper.

Usually they are going to make things right without much hassle at all. Their Insurance will cover the cost of repairs and you should be able to get depreciation for a now bad carfax (make sure you press this). If new enough they will likely offer a little or no cost trade in/up in lieu of a cash pay-out.

I thought it was basic knowledge that you never signed anything until the claim was either repaired/fulfilled or agreed upon payment was in hand. How did Corporate America screw him?
