To be honest, not sure, I haven't had anything else. I went from stock to Donhahoe std coilovers, Deaver J59s, & Bilstein 5100s 13 yrs ago. I was just going to get a spacer lift but the guys on CT told me hell no! Then took off the Billies cause I found a set of used Donahoe rear resi shocks. A few months ago I put on Icon ext coilovers & Icon UCAs. Rear setup is still the same except for new bushings, greaseable shackes, & Wheeler's Super Bumps.

I know this forum is a King & Fox coilover fanboy group  :crapstorm: :anonymous:, I had no idea people disliked Icons so much here & have had problems with them until after I bought the Icons. People say they ride stiff & they do I agree but they seem to do well when going fast which is what I like to do. I came from slammed cars with stiff suspension so I don't mind it, I actually like it cause it doesn't feel like a truck with lots of body roll. I first started going offroading with desert guys, I'm 2wd so no slow crawling over rocks for me.

I've never had a problem with my Hoes for 13 yrs so I guess I'm happy with them. Replaced them cause all the oil leaked out. I sold my stock suspension & don't have any place where I can leave my truck up in the air overnight(s) which is why I didn't get the Hoes rebuilt. But now that I have a spare set of coilovers, I can while still having my truck driveable.

Perhaps Kings do ride better as people say but whatever, I'm already invested. If I ever decide to change suspension setup again it will be long travel & then I'll switch to Kings & all the fancy stuff.

People really don't like Icons on here? Huh. Donahoe was bought by... I want to say Icon?

I only have half of my lift on so I can't really compare. I have the stock Tokico coilovers in the front, and Icon shocks and AllPro leafs in the rear.

You're gonna love your icons compared to your dead stock suspension haha

I just have to find time to install them. With that whole Sienna water pump thing, and my whole side operation, it's hard to find any time to do it with the limited time I have.

Takes like 30min per side the first time. The longest portion is getting the alignment after you dial in the height.

Yeah people seem to talk shit about Icons here but whatever I'm running them & have no regrets.

The guys who worked at Donahoe basically bought the company & continued on when William Donahoe got arrested for, well you can look up the news articles online.

Oh I know the coilovers are easy. I'm worried about the SPC UCA's.

WTF you still haven't put em on? Stop making excuses already! If it were me I'd make it a priority!

    Hurry up already! :burnrubber: :mudding:

Shit if I lived close to you I'd come over & put em on for you. So easy & quick to do. Easier than doing brakes!

Yeah pretty sad & I was really shocked (;)) when it happened. Had no idea who Icon was until many years after. I just assumed Donahoe Racing closed down.

I'll be honest I'm not too excited about pressing those upper ball joints out again.

One of the hardest parts of my 4WD swap was pressing them out outside the truck.

It's cake with an impact and a ball joint press, or if you have a shop press it's even easier than cake. You just were inexperienced the first time.

I still haven't put the clear coat on the SPC UCA's. You have to remember the excellent paint we have in California has little to no hardeners, so it takes forever to cure.

I actually broke my impact, if you remember when I posted about it in December. I bought another (cheaper) impact and it just hammered the shit out of it on Christmas Eve 2017.

The hard part was getting leverage since I didn't have them on the truck.

What kind of paint did you use? I've never had issues with paint bought here in CA drying.
