Grouse opened here yesterday. Too hot and with work will not be able to get out until next month. Have a cabin rented for the last 2 weeks of October.

Been shooting a new style Sweet 16 this summer with 28" bbl. And doing well with it love the gun. They only sell it in 28 and 26. It is a LONG drink of water the receiver is longer than most guns. So 3 weeks ago sent it to Briley in Texas and had them cut it back to the first post at the end of the rib. They removed 5" and it is now an inch shorter than my 12 ga. Benelli Ultralight and Ithaca 37 16 ga. English Deluxe UL.

It came back on Wednesday and shot sporting clays with it on Thursday and shot best round of the year with it. 3 chokes I selected were .004, .009 and .014. In many ways it is now close to the BUL. But even lighter and a 16 ga. which is the proper ga. for ruff grouse IMO.

After hunting season will have it converted to a straight grip. But looking forward to getting the dog on some birds soon. Soon as possible, might have to make a trip to a game farm for warm ups as soon as it cools down.

Little tree air fresheners. Clazzio black leather seat covers.
New hunting buddy Jasper, Wirehaird Pointing Griffin. He'll be 1yr old on Halloween. Can't wait to see how he does his 1st year hunting. As far as shotguns I'll be rocking my new Benelli Performance Shop Codoba for waterfowl and upland birds.

We didn’t break any records but Huk had a solid hunt at the farm. He did very well with commands at a distance and the Belgium Browning shot like it was brand new! 917628BA-7A59-458E-A1C0-A93848CB67D5.jpg41CF13F0-E922-451E-9574-5570051553D3.jpg

Who makes (made) your SxS?! For some reason never noticed that earlier.

Semi Beavertail, pistol grip or POW, single trigger, sidelock at least plates anyhow. Ticks off a bunch of things for me. Only ones left are high rib on a 30" bbl. and of course 16 ga. But that is a needle in a haystack as it is especial with the other options.

Some highlights from this season so far, we've hunted mountain quail, blue grouse, ruffed grouse, sharptails, Huns, and pheasants this year in California, Oregon, and North Dakota.

Nothing wrong with that, and if the right one came along I would be all over it.

Won my first SxS on gunbroker last week a Win. 23 in 20 ga. with 28" bbl. As soon as it arrives the barrels will be making a trip to Briley in Texas to get tubes.

Just got back from 10 days between the Boundary Waters and Lake Superior grouse hunting with the dog. Death by drizzle and snow showers. But did well, not complaining at all! :) Unpack, get ready for winter and work on Monday :(

Beautiful second weekend of the Illinois season. Light snow and some cold temps had the birds sitting pretty tight. Didn't get a picture of the shorthairs but here's the truck and Beretta 686 12 ga.

3rd generation upland hunter. This season I have been lucky to get out 2 times a week at least so far in Illinois. Lucky to have a great conservation area close to home. Frankie my GSP is 5 years old and has become an absolutely awesome hunting dog! Points early and often! I really hope the sport gains more popularity. In my opinion, it is one of the coolest things you can do.

Tough day in the brush the other week with inclement weather and lots of wind, but came away with a few.
