I think that's because I only have Toyota Entune in my vehicles, which is what they call the 2.0 and older systems.

The issue with this is privacy. Toyota has a clear policy of not selling every bit of information they can learn about you. I understand a plurality of people feel no danger in allowing their personal information to be catalogued and sold but those of us who do will continue to support vendors and manufacturers who have a track record of respecting privacy.

I wouldn't say that its that much of a hit compared to a Toyota. Hyundai usa has come along way from the last time I owned one. the reliability and resale value doesn't lag that far behind Toyota. maybe 1k-2k less on resale overall on the higher trims and I see a lot of people give current gen cars a pretty positive review.

edit : I do know that Toyota probably has a higher resale value, maybe more than the ball park 1-2k difference, but since its a long term purchase, the longer warranty will be more beneficial if its even used. I know when I had my 07 sonata, the only issue I had was that the gas tank needed more baffles when you had a full tank, otherwise I didn't have 1 issue with the vehicle.

Don’t use pandora anymore anyways since I now use Amazon music. Don’t need to log in and it’s starts right up when I have Bluetooth selected.

Just sold my 07 SR5 Access Cab 4x2 Pre Runner for $14,000. I bought it new for $23600. Strictly stock. Only time it was in the shop was for recalls.

Personally, I don't like the phone integration apps, but I understand that's the way tech is going. I really only use the enTune Nav and iPod anyway since I prefer to use the free satellite service vs chewing up data on my dataplan for hours on end each week.

Got an email today from Toyota saying that pandora will no longer be supported with an update coming out on November 13. No work around, only the existing Bluetooth connection for this type of media. Also no way to avoid the update.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
I paid for features, not disappointments!
I really think this is the stuff that "class-action" suits are for. Sure the lawyers win and not the customers -- but the offending party (Toyota) has to pay!

i sort of agree. it's a gray area and this is all new. technically by rights yes, you paid for the vehicle and that includes a feature supported by the radio that's now being removed without recompense. what we do not know is if this is toyota forcing this or pandora giving toyota the finger saying they're not going to support their app on the entune platform any longer without a new license agreement. we just don't know.

I bet you there is some verbiage in all those documents you sign during purchase that protects them in cases like this.

Someone in my area was able to lemon their vehicle because a feature in their head unit did not function. If you can convince them that the function was a huge selling point for you when making your purchase, then you can lemon it.

Most likely. Beyond that, I am prepared to be shocked by anyone that was swayed into purchasing a Taco because of Entune features. Folks might have paid $$ for the JBL system, but 99.9% of folks (my estimate) didn't walk into the dealership looking for Entune and its app line up to toss money on the hood?

Myself, I am perfectly happy with a good BT connection. Most times, the song info doesn't even show up, but I get good audio (to me), navi voice guidance, and some settings customizations on a nice looking head unit. That's it for me.

    Wow.

I've had a few minor gripes with Entune that updating on my own fixed for the most part, but I can't think of a time when a stock system didn't suck? For background my butt has never tainted the seats of an S-Class, 7-series, or even a Land Cruiser. I don't know what those high end systems are like. I've read enough about them (COMAND and BMW iDrive) that I don't think that I would like or want them any more than I have experienced.

Honestly though, whether or not any feature is a "selling point," it should work. Yea, I'm spending almost $40k on a truck, some of that money went to developing that entune and it's software. It's not like someone put cotton balls in front of some strobing led lights. If your paying for a company to include something in your vehicle, that thing better work as intended.
