Got the antenna mounted. Doesn’t feel to obtrusive in my line of sight. I like it.

Looks great! I made my first contact yesterday eve and joined my first net with Murph. Pretty neat! All with the cheapo Baofeng!

 

Awesome! I love mine so far. Still have to get around to studying enough and taking the test. Was planning to take it a couple weekends ago but bombed my practice tests the night before because I didn't touch the material for about 2 weeks.

I zeroed in on the sections I had the least aptitude on hamstudy.org. I was making 90's and every now and then 80's on the practice exams. The actual test was a curve ball though. I swear I'd never seen a few of those questions

@stronghammer Rubbermaid totes work great for packing 3rd members. Just the right size and your shipping company will like you because they are stackible. Duct tape holds the lid on well too.

 

cool thanks for the suggestion. the ECGS guy said they always recommend 5 gallon buckets simply because of their strength. he said they've gotten empty packages before that had a blown out hole in the side where the 3rd came out haha!
