Last week we went to high bridge state park one of those rails to trails deals. We also have a pretty good paved trail going from richmond to williamsburg. It is around 58 miles one way. We havent done the whole thing at one time, honestly after 20 miles or so I am tired and my butt hurts.

I'm considering selling my 56 cm. Trek XO1 Cyclocross bike. Not much mileage on it, but I just don't have a chance to ride anymore. I'll get some pics if anyone might be interested. I know it retailed for about $1400 new, and just looked at the Trek website. All their current cross bikes start over $1800.
I'll clean it up (Dusty from sitting in a carport) and get some pics if anyone might be interested in it for $1000.

Good luck! I've been trying to sell my $1,300 Trek with all sorts of extras on the build for $650 with no bites yet. Ha

You're all fat for not riding a million miles by now and posting trip reports. haha

Went and test rode a few bikes yesterday. I'm incredibly torn between four models... If only I could afford them all! :D

Nice! I'm torn on the Ogre right now. Leaving my road bike to my first Surly and trying to choose between their more commuter/adventure frames (CC, LHT, Troll, Ogre). You like it on the Tarmac?

yeah so far, theres some drawbacks to my setup. 1X on 105. Left shifter is not hooked up. But it rides nice and fast. I wanted mtb geo, headtube angle. but road cockpit. I built a strange bike, if I had to do again id do a different frame so I could run a 2X setup, granted I dont need it so maybe i wouldnt.

I prefer 1x, personally but if I were to get more into touring or anything realize I would run out of gears on both ends.

I'm torn and need to find a place I can test ride. Ideally I would just have several bikes, but (beyond cost) I am way too nomadic to have more than 1-2 on the back of my car all the time.

I love the speed of 700c, the nimbleness of 26, and rollover and top speed of 29, prefer touring geometry over MTB geo, and am a small dude so MTB frames get way too cramped for me to use a decent Bikepacking setup, etc.

I commute in town most of the time so ideally would get a CC, but want the wider tires available on the LHT (which is long and lifeless, which pushes me toward a Troll or Ogre haha . . . .

Ahhhh the wonderful chase for "the one" never ends.

My frames a medium, Im 6'2 and ride larges. But this thing had a LONG top tube for a small frame, almost as long as my Evil, then combine with pushed out bars and the cockpit of a large was going to be well over 25"

I'm 5' 7" so I'll likely need a Small then. I just assumed from the geometry I'd need a Medium but maybe not if you're that much taller than me.

Sounds just about right! I keep my bikes that are in working order in the garage. I've got about a half dozen more out in the shed in various states of disrepair. It's a sickness, but a good one.

Are gravel grinders welcome? I have a 2014 trek crossroad elite. I've done a few half centuries on gravel with it and a few metric road centuries. Going to try and brake into the 100 mile rides this year.

Street set up is a set of cheep 28c slicks. Current gravel set up is 40c knobbies but thinking about doing 27.5s with 2.0 or 2.1 tires so it's a better all around bike.
