So strange too, Fox is usually the cheapest of the aftermarket shocks. I always forget how expensive fronts are for these truck, I got my Icons used for $500 shipped and I had them rebuilt after 2 years of hard use (they were already 6 years old) and they rebuild them for $334 with new shafts and heims and of course seals and oil. Shits like new and they still cost less.

That was just power to the CPU I believe to test the unit. He had to de-solder the ROM chip to reprogram it for me. Super interesting process, had to use a legacy 32 bit windows machine and actually change the hexadecimal values through a serial port.

 

IMO, you're buying the name. By far the most common brand on all the bro trucks with chrome trailing arms is Fox.

I've done my fair share of EEPROM fudging, another reason why I have a good Windows 98 machine kicking around. Plus NISTUNE and TechStream both love old windows for some reason

Low budget (Fabtech/rough country)

 

Yeah those don't really count, those are just dressed up Billies/Radflo. They aren't rebuildable and aren't adjustable save for height.
