Check out my post, shoot me a message if you're interested in it. It's coated with bedliner on the front, paint on the inside. I need to straighten one of the bottom corners where it mounts to the frame as it hit a rock pretty good.

Oh I'm not worried about it. Just might get in the way of a fresh install.

So- we have an update with my trucks A/C. Blown compressor- AGAIN!

The dealer got Toyota to replace it under warranty. We have to pay $84.00, ok -fine.

Replaced the compressor- and all A/C lines just 15 months ago. Had the refill/schrader valve replaced just 2 weeks ago. Hopefully this will fix it for good.

When they did the valve, did they not charge it properly?

They must not be replacing the "filters" and flushing the system to have a blown compressor again.

Read somewhere here on TW that the compressor can be blown- if the refrigerant is not fully drained and is then over charged. (Which could also be why my schrader valve was hissing/bubbleing).

Dunno if it is true or not. But I do know this is the second time replacing the condenser in 15 months, and about 5-6 visits total for my A/C.

An overcharge shouldn't cause a blow compressor unless the pressure relief valve on the backside of the compressor is stuck. It's a one way mechanical valves setunder spring pressure for a certain pressure point. Usually as far as what the gauges read 400+ on the high side. But like an engine it's "combustion" pressures exceed that pressure a lot.
