Actually, to move the dealer, not Toyota.

Is there another dealer you can use close by? Or close enough to avoid the one you are having issues with?

I agree with the advice to switch dealers. Don’t go to those morons anymore.

Where did you get that little tidbit of inaccuracy?

Not according to the VINs on about half of the trucks I researched when shopping.

This is what i'm thinking too, but I'll tell all you what the state BMV told me today, if for no other reason, it should be informative

There are two ways to "call back" (as the BMV called it) a new car title. They both essentially do the same thing: make it appear as if the title never existed, or in other words, the vehicle was never titled. The first way is a cancellation, which is when the BMV notices they made a mistake internally and they essentially cancel that transaction. The second way is to void the title. This exists so that if a dealer makes a paperwork error and say mismatches the truck vin and title vin (truck sold vin not equal to title vin). They can request the BMV to void the title. This also cancels the transaction and makes it look as if the truck is new again (never titled). Now, dealers are only supposed to use this when they make an error, not to commit fraud. But, what I was thinking with my initial post is this: Is it within the realm of possibility for them to use this in say, the following way:

Dude buys truck, doesn't like truck, threatens to sue, dealer takes back truck with say 300 miles on it for arguments sake
dealer voids title by falsely telling BMV the original title request was an error, and that they sent the wrong VIN to BMV
Truck looks to be new again
Dealer sells truck as new to avoid thousands of dollars in loss

In the case of my truck, it has had two separate titles issued (completely different document numbers) so when you do a records search on the current title it says I am the original owner. But, it was titled and registered at least on paper before I got it. The tricky part is determining if it was truly just an on paper error, or something less than genuine went down.

OK note that I did not Say "all" because I was searching for a certain set of options I used that tool a great deal also and in discussions with the Dealer that I ended up purchasing from I asked about that also and the reply was right along the lines of what I was seeing while looking I did see AT ones Texas Plant built not a single MT one Mexico built and more AT one Mexico Built than anything also note that when looking at ones for sale to the North and north east (not Canada thought) USA built ones popped up a little more but high majority AT ones built Mexico.

And ALL but 1 of the Automatic 2018 I ran were built in Mexico so how would that be inaccurate? How many number did you run? for how long? I took 5 month of looking and running Vin right from the Dealer's listings before the Truck I purchased with the right options showed up 4 hours away from me.

Every single access cab at the dealer I bought mine from in SoCal were all made in Texas. The double cabs were the Baja plant with the exception of their pro's.

I'm not trying to get in a fight with you. I won't dispute what you found on your searches, but to say almost all automatics are built in Mexico is inaccurate.

I ran trucks for probably three months, and all were made in Texas. That could be a function of the model and options I was looking for at the time, as well as the fact I was looking in Houston and Jacksonville/Orlando mainly.

Oh all is good I did not think about the "other" models of Tacoma's until Mjs90 pointed that out and the Double cab units were the only ones I looked at and ran the Vin number on except my 2000 Tacoma and that came back made in Japan.
