I can see that if it's tiny, I was "small" like a city of say 100k vs a million plus. Of course if it's a county sherif in a town of a thousand people they will want more people they know. I could be completely wrong but that's what I've seen/heard. City of Portland won't even look at you unless you have a 4 year degree, military service, or 4 years of comparable job experience

 

I always liked the idea of throwing them on an unpopulated island and arming them, let the problem solve itself

My uncle works as a crime scene clearn. And the amount of guns, money, and drugs they get in is ridiculous

 

what kind of criminals are we talking about here....had I not been so lucky (or good at not getting caught) as a kid I'd definitely have a criminal record lol. Hell in some states just getting caught taking a piss outside can get you put on the registered sex offender list.
