I will be out of town that weekend. Sounds like a great time. For those that will be able to go, be safe and have a great time.

hold my beer! I’ve got the stock 17” street tires with 40,000 miles on ‘em.

I should probably hit Harbor Freight Tools and see about tow straps.

    Oh ,and a shovel
The best will be my wife saying “don’t break anything, the warranty expired!”

    Or
“What the F were you thinking?”

    Lol!!

I was just at harbor freight. Home depot actually has some 30', 20,000# straps for $35 each, which is a better deal than harbor freight had. I'm also looking at a nice come along at home depot. Reviews of the harbor freight come alongs are not great.

I did pick up some cheap glow rods for work, though

I was thinking of picking up something like that.

Just an fyi, I'm not 100% sure about the toilet situation at the campsites. Most of these places have an open air pit toilet, which is exactly what it sounds like. I did not see one there, but I didn't wander very far. I did see evidence of people using a thicket of trees as a toilet. This doesn't bother me, but I thought I should make it clear so nobody gets caught off guard.

I bought a bucket toilet seat at walmart for next to nothing a few years ago and it's worked out just great

If anyone has trouble seeing the location, let me know. Also, this spot will probably be great for a smaller group, but if many people decide to join, we might have to find a bigger spot. It looked like there might be room for 5-6 tents maybe

do you recall if there was a toilet there? I didn't see one, but I know they tend to hide them out in the woods

Edit: i just spoke with the local park office for that district. The site has been removed from their publications due to the bad condition of the road leading to it. There is no fee for camping. This is dispersed camping with no amenities.

I was told that some of the roads in the area are on potawatomi land and to make sure we stay on roads listed on the MVUM. I'll try to post the route for anyone who doesn't have MVUM maps.

There is a pit toilet, yes. No walls or anything but a seat and a pit. The road was rough but by no means something that stopped me. I was just there two weeks ago.

Also if there’s no pay tube attached to the sign it’s free to camp.
It’s called wilderness camping even if the sign said developed.
