Buy one now, and you can always move it to your next Tacoma! :)

Anyhow, 99.9% of the time i'm in 2wd. You have the Offroad, so it has a locker. That will get you to plenty of awesome camping spots.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I too would like to know the best way to go about it, suspension I mean.
I doubt it would ever come off once installed.

I got a ‘17 TRD Pro. It will have the following:
    - Decked drawer box
    - CBI rear bumper Alum (maybe steel cause all of the weight I want to put on it)
    - CBI front bumper Alum
    - Sliders
    - fridge full
    - gear

Interested in everyone's suspension input as well, I'm running stock right now. And frankly, I know diddly squat about suspension and what should be done in a situation like this.

The airbag idea had intrigued me, due to leveling capabilities for the Habitat, and *possibly* being able to squeak into the garage by losing air. Don't know what the garage door clearance is at the place I'm moving to though, so that point might be moot. I've heard they improve ride quality as well, but I have no personal experience

I've been running the Tacoma stock with the Habitat and there is a bit of sag in the rear, but installing add a leaf and air bags next month - planning on carrying a Yamaha XT250 on the rear bumper and air bags are a must. Also upgrading the suspension and adding a front-bumper and winch.

Hey Fellas, I know AT isn't on this fourm but I am now on this fourm and will do my best to answer questions people may have about Habitats and Summits.

I am the Texas dealer for AT. Our shops name is Adventure Up Overland. Let me know if I can help anyone out.

    Thanks

I had and have Dakar leaf pack without the extra leaf. plan is replace these with the all pro Expo leaf pack sitting on floor in garage. with a steel high clearance bumper with swing out and an 80 lb spare wheel plus the refrigerator and other minimal camping gear, the Dakar barely cuts it. rolling down 395 at 430am i got the bright lights from 4 or 5 north bound truckers..so turn off the errant low beams.
I talked to a guy at Grandview with a new four wheel camper and air bags with stock leafs, he was not satisfied with the what the airbags added. those new four wheel campers are too big is my take, cuz i've read airbags were helpful with older 4WC.
I figure the all pro units may not be enough either, but I'll eventually find that out, what I read locally is Deaver custom packs are the way to go

I have a total chaos SUA with the HD pack, it rides great and sagging is minimal.... they also offer an add a leaf for this leaf pack as well if I ever went with a heavier rear bumper.

If anyone is looking to buy an SUA kit I have an extra one of the exact kit on my truck, you can see ad here:

    Damn you!!

I’ve been trying to not justify a SUA kit.

I am running Dakar packs with the hd leafs, and inverted first overload. The are closevto flat with a full 17 day trip worth the shit for two adults and two small kids. Have inverted timbren ses as backup.

Airbags and removal of the hd leaf is next.

Have you looked into a 12v diesel heater at all? I know the webasto kits have been popular... Looks like China has come up with copies at 1/3 the cost:

My brother rocks a Westfalia and I guess the people on those forums have been raving about them. Pretty sure Im going to order one before our next trip in a couple weeks.

I like that it uses its own designated fuel tank, and they are supposed to be real efficient.

I would be a bit leary of installing what amounts to a pulse jet engine in my truck knowing it’s a cheap Chinese knockoff. But, that is me.

Five or six pages back we were just talking about airbags and leaf springs.

Personally, I have Deaver U402 Stage 3 Expedition leaf pack with Bilstein 5160s. I think it rides great whether i'm unloaded (as in still hauling my Habitat, Fridge, and dual batteries, etc), or completely loaded (Habitat completely full of camping stuff AND towing a 16 foot car trailer with 3000lbs of toys on it)
