They said they found a pin hole in the weld where the 02 sensor screws in.......hopefully these 30 days waiting comes to an end.

Well exhaust leak makes sense from the errors you were getting. But never knew a pin hole could trip it. Hope this fixes it.

I actually read on a google search from a Toyota mechanic that this has been a common issue and suggested to check that welded fitting. Strangely today, my toyota dealership mechanic said that his tech line people told him he should check carefully this weld also. So pretty sure now Toyota actually knows more about this than they are saying. Either way, after 30 days I just want my truck in my driveway and not at the shop.

Well people, picked up truck tonight and drove 5 km and light and same code came back on. 4 weeks now and still no resolve. I told the dealership that maybe I should call toyota leasing and discuss another truck. Has anyone any luck with getting a different vehicle with a situation like this? 4 weeks now and still they can't get a fix.........just so frustrated at this point....
We don't have Lemon laws in canada and don't have much for back up if we end up with a bad unit.

At this point, they appear to be throwing parts at it. Not a good plan and a waste of everyones time. In order to racket up the pressure on the fix, I would escalate to replacing the vehicle. We have lemon laws here, so I can't speak to what your options might be. Sorry to hear of that headache.

Actually I sent in a complaint to toyota canada and they called me today andbturns out what the dealership told toyota canada was a different story I was told. After that conversation was disclosed toyota canada is going to get me a rental vehicle to drive until my truck is fixed and every step will now be monitored by toyota canada that the dealership does. I'm satisfied with the head offices response so we'll see how long the fix takes.

At some point I would be asking for a new truck. Especially if you have another one just like it with 0 issues that hasn't been torn apart & put back together. Hoping for a good outcome man!

Hey! I’m the one w/ the above post, code P0420 under 100 miles, getting new cat put on Friday. Just looked at my paperwork and it looks like they’re replacing the “Pipe Assy, Exhaus” and “Manifold Assy, Ex”. Did they do both on yours or just the pipe assembly (w/ the cat)?

I really hope they give you a nice extended warranty after tearing your new truck apart. Removing cylinder heads? Good lord.....Lesson from this thread is get corporate involved early on these sort of deals!

tJc...just the part shown in the picture and the 02 sensor that screws into it. Toyota canada is now involved and they are going to rent me a vehicle to drive.
